Again and again it just proves that no one in government is listening to the people.

    ALIPAC assails Huckabee 'plan'
    Thursday, December 27, 2007

ALIPAC (Americans for Legal Immigration) sent this press release today:

Iowa's Republicans Reject Hucakbee Immigration Plan 6 to 1!

    December 27, 2007
    CONTACT: ALIPAC

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) released the initial results of their informative poll of Republican voters in Iowa which asked, "Do you support or oppose Mike Huckabee's touchback amnesty plan to allow the illegal aliens to leave the US and return legally in one day?" with initial responses showing GOP voters reject Huckabee's plan by a factor of 6 to 1.

Of the thousands of voters that responded to the automated poll, 65% said they opposed the plan, 25% were undecided, and only 10% supported the plan.

"It is hard to say which reading is more telling," said William Gheen. "The 65% opposition is a devastating result for any campaign, but the 10% support level should send a clear message to Mike Huckabee and Mike Pence about how Americans feel about touchback amnesty."

ALIPAC's William Gheen, Dan Smeriglio of Voice of the People, and Peter Gadiel of 9/11 Families for a Secure America are on the ground in Iowa spreading the word about Huckabee's Dec. 9th comments about letting the illegals return in a day. They are conducting many talk radio interviews, while the phone bank poll continues to contact voters. ALIPAC is considering buying radio ads and launching volunteer phone calls to further warn voters.

"There is absolutely no way that Mike Huckabee can be in the lead in Iowa among Republican voters, unless they are in the dark about his record and stances on immigration issues," says Gheen who is a veteran campaign consultant. "Before our team leaves Iowa, we will have done our best to rectify the situation."

ALIPAC is not endorsing a Presidential candidate and is not financially supported by any rival campaign. True loyalties are to the American public and the group is focused on warning voters that all Democratic candidates and GOP candidates McCain, Guiliani, and Huckabee favor amnesty for illegal aliens.

ALIPAC plans to release updated polling results on Friday, after more Republican households are contacted. The Huckabee campaign is now starting to deny the earlier statement on Fox News as this story breaks in the national press.

    Questions for Huckabee:

Why did you find it necessary to establish the 47th Mexican Consulate in the U.S. in Arkansas (Little Rock)?

Why did you find it necessary to travel to Mexico as Arkansas governor, utilizing taxpayer dollars to woo Mexico to put a consulate in Little Rock?

Why did you agree to a lease of $1 per year for the Mexican government to pay for office space when the going rental rate for the space is greater than $600 per month? Who is making up the difference? Arkansas taxpayers?

Why does the Mexican government have a three year no cost mortgage on the construction of their new consulate site in Little Rock? Why are they being granted this special favor and who is funding it? Special Interests? The Arkansas Business Community? The Arkansas Taxpayer? Furthermore, it appears that the Mexican Government is getting the construction of its consulate wholly funded by the Arkansas taxpayer. Are the only costs Mexico is incurring just operational and staffing costs?

What role is the consulate playing in supplying cheap (illegal) foreign labor to Arkansas chicken processing plants? Since the Mexican Consulate is a service organization for Mexicans, and the majority of Mexicans in the U.S. are here illegally, then how are you not a supporter of illegal aliens and illegal immigration into the country?

The Mexican Consulate actively interferes in the U.S. legislative process and even counsels Mexicans on immigration enforcement initiatives by police and immigration officers. How do you reconcile your support for the consulate with that?

The Mexican Consulate also engages in providing identification papers to all Mexicans (legal and illegal) which enables them to operate here. Specifically, the Mexican Matricula card is cranked out constantly and given to ‘their people’. Although, I believe you said you are against the matricula card, how do you reconcile that fact that that is one of the primary purposes of the Mexican Consulate?

    Questions for Huckabee:

Would you be in favor of eliminating the current U.S. policy of birthright citizenship for the children (anchor babies, jackpot babies) of illegal aliens?

Do you consider birthright citizenship a magnet that causes illegal aliens to enter America?

Why do you support a short touchback provision of only days for illegal aliens to re-enter America as legal? This would require special processing and distinctly favor those that entered our country illegally. Why do you not require illegal aliens to depart the country and then apply through the proper existing legal channels that follow current U.S. immigration law?

Why did you not process the application and enter into negotiations with the Department on Homeland Security on the Arkansas 287(g) program in a timely fashion while you were in office? The Arkansas legislature passed the bill, you grudgingly signed it and then your administration did nothing to implement it. You had 20 months while in office to implement the immigration enforcement program, yet you stalled and left it on the table for your successor. Why?

    Question for Huckabee:

Why are you so willing to use American citizen taxpayer dollars to provide special tuition provisions and scholarships to illegal aliens instead of America’s children?

NOTE: In 2005, Huckabee tried to make children of illegal immigrants eligible for scholarships and in-state college tuition in Arkansas. Joyce Elliott, the former state representative who sponsored the scholarship measure, said she originally had wanted to offer just in-state tuition, but Huckabee's office asked her to add the scholarship provision.

Polls bear out the fact that 80% of American’s are against the DREAM Act, which Huckabee fully supports. Americans are not pleased that they have been forced by an activist Supreme Court decision to educate illegal aliens through primary and secondary schooling. We are totally against providing further taxpayer dollars to illegal aliens in college. The DREAM Act puts illegal aliens into the pool of college applicants. That means for every illegal alien who lands an admissions slot, an American kid is kept out of college. It also is designed to give citizenship to illegal aliens. Mr. Huckabee somehow rationalizes this perversity as ‘compassionate’ conservatism.
