Thread: Anyone else have this problem from Change.gov ?

I have received one phone call and one e-mail, from two different sources reporting a problem like this.

Since most of you are our most loyal and skilled activists that respond to most of our email alerts, have any of you experienced similiar problems since the change.gov activation two weeks back?

It started, as I said, when I visited change.gov to send an open letter to Barack Hussein Obama demanding that he offer proof that he's an American-born US citizen under the "Tell Us Your Story" link. Upon doing so, the spam attack began. I got emails from change.gov, change.org, obama/biden.org, obama/bidentransitionteam.org, transitionteam.org and a couple more I can't remember. Each time, I'd report it as spam and block that email address. The next day, I'd get more from a different address. Same procedure...spam/block. It went on and on until I'd blocked a total of seven. Thankfully, it has now stopped.

Please let me know in detail. Yes/No?

Only those that participated at the Obama sites should answer unless you have some other relevant information.

Some of you could also test this by creating some new email accounts and only going the obama site to see what happens.

Thats exactly what happened to me. I got pro-Obama emails constantly, and some of them wouldnt let me discontinue receiving them. I kept blocking them and new one would show up. I not only got all of the spam, but also was put on a call list to help out Obamas campaign. For several months and especially the 2 weeks before the election we got calls several times a day. We kept telling them to take me off the list but the calls kept coming. They wanted me to volunteer at one of the polling locations or make phone calls and when we told them no and that I wasnt even a democrat, they got really rude and pushy and wanted to know why I wouldnt help. The not being a "democrat" didnt even phase them. The calls only stopped AFTER Obama was elected. The emails stopped too.

I'm having the same problem. Also, I haven't been getting the usual subscribed e-mail newsletters I normally get. It's like something is blocking my mail. I'm also getting tons of spam pertaining to Immigrating to America and Obama garbage. This is a first for me. Very annoying!

I used a throw away email that's always full of spam so I can't blame anything on anyone. I did have problems with trojans attacking my computer after I posted several times in the enforce the laws thread. It was so bad I couldn't even go to the site without getting strange boxes that wanted me to click them. I would have to hit control, alt, delete to get out of it. One time I had to turn my computer off by cutting the electricity to get out of there.

I suggest that everyone contact the National Press Club and give them a heads up on how devious the site was(I already have) and expose change for the frauds they are. It would be justice if change didn't get to promote their ideas in the First Amendment Lounge where this propaganda is slated to be unveiled as the most important issues facing citizens. Also citizens according to change are "citizens of the world" not the United States.

There was an email but it seems to have disappeared from the site or maybe I am looking in the wrong place? I'll keep looking and post it when and if I find it again.

Also take a screenshot of the window[s] that pop up and include them as evidence.

Are you talking about change.org or change.gov or both? Please specify.

.gov is the official obama site. .org is the activist run site. Please tell us which one gave you the trouble if you know.

Also, has the problem alleviated now? How did you fix it?

Anyone else have problems like this?

I need to know solidly what is happening before taking action.

I will go sign up with gov right now and see what happens. Sorry!

I believe it was change dot org.

My problems were with Change.gov.

I reformatted my computer this morning and so far so good...

It is definitely change.org causing these problems, not change.gov. With the gov website I signed up for a long time ago, every email I get is thanking me for my support and asking for a contribution. I read them and delete them.
The one time I wandered into change.org, I took a look at what else they were offering, it was stories about Marxism and neo-Nazis. Now what person in their right mind would post something like that on behalf of the next president?
Change.org was started in 2005, before Obama announced his candidacy. From what I read about the founder he seems to be a bit of a radical nut.
