Upset with what they consider "an offense to humanity", senators Jaime Naranjo and Pedro Muñoz presented a project in which they request the President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, to present an "energetic protest" to the U.S. government regarding its decision to continue the construction of a wall in the border with Mexico.

The agreement approved proposes that the President instruct, if the foreign Minister, Alejandro Foxley believes that its proper, that in representation of the Senate she presents a protest to the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives.

Likewise, it asks that the construction work of the wall be suspended, since its construction implies "a wrong for all the latin-Americans".

Along with that, they request that all claims by Mexican authorities or other Central American countries be supported and be carried out before the Organization of United Nations and their agencies of Human Rights.

According to the authors of this agreement the construction of this wall in the border of the United States and Mexico, which affects primarily people of latin American origin, can only be understood as a racist measure in which it wounds diverse covenants and treaties subscribed in matter of Human Rights by the international community.
