Full-Body Scan Technology Deployed In Street-Roving Vans

As the privacy controversy around full-body security scans begins to simmer, it’s worth noting that courthouses and airport security checkpoints aren’t the only places where backscatter x-ray vision is being deployed. The same technology, capable of seeing through clothes and walls, has also been rolling out on U.S. streets.

American Science & Engineering, a company based in Billerica, Massachusetts, has sold U.S. and foreign government agencies more than 500 backscatter x-ray scanners mounted in vans that can be driven past neighboring vehicles to see their contents, Joe Reiss, a vice president of marketing at the company told me in an interview. While the biggest buyer of AS&E’s machines over the last seven years has been the Department of Defense operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, Reiss says law enforcement agencies have also deployed the vans to search for vehicle-based bombs in the U.S.

Isnt it strange those in power seem more concerned with people who are residents rather then those who come legal or illegal from other countries.

Heard an official few days ago on one of the talking head shows state there more concerned now over home grown terrorist, how did they come to that decision. Certainly they have allowed people in who should not be here who they now consider home grown but we have a world wide threat to think otherwise is nonsense.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

Police State has been incremented slowly and steathily over a period of time against the citizens of this country. Though illegals will obviously also be in the path of surveillence once they are here, it is the American citizens who they fear as Americans are the most likely to fight back.

    Can you say One-World-Order.
As Aristotle said, “Tolerance and apathy are the first virtue of a dying civilization.â€
