How many Illegals paid thier respects to our fallen today

Today i attended a service at the local DAV of which i am a member of.
I watched the Colors being lowered as the color guard Folded our Flag i the ceremonial fashion of which every fold has a special meaning, While the trumpeteer Played taps. There was prayer and the national anthem sung in our national tounge english.
The commander commenced the ceremony with a speech and in that speech i heard things that were old and some were new. But the theme of his speech was "Don't Forget Those who fought and fought for this one reason that we might be free, they did this unselfishly", they did it for our country and without hesitation they flung themselves into harms way
for the sake of a free world for the sake of this free country , for the sake of freeing other countries.
There wasnt a dry eye in the place, The old conjers who were standing beside me reminissed on how they saw thier buddies lives end and how much they missed and loved them and even though they were one...... they counted for something, they died for our sakes and freedoms sake.
Down the road these old guys will be laid to rest and will take alot of thier stories with them. Today was a sober reminder of what it took , the price our country has paid to put democracy in nations, and if we had not been there to help, thier country might be a be radically different today.
My thoughts then turned to the Illegal Invasion that has our country riddled with such anger and disgust. And i had to ask myself

AFTER THE AMNESTY HAS BEEN AWARDED (theoreticaly)
WOULD ANYONE OF THESE ILLEGALS PAY THIER RESPECTS TO THOSE
Who Died for this country so they could be free !!! Or better yet would they even understand that part of it. Or would they demand Again that we stop honoring our fallen comerads becasue its not thier history. Well I dont have to mention which country they will be loyal too.

I am reminded of the many mexican flags flown during the Illegal Boycott.

Keep these words "Viva La Mexico" planted in your mind and assocoiate them with the congressman, senator who voted for "guest worker programs " should they be implimented .

My hope is that they dont get to abuse our system anymore and that our efforts are empowered and we prevail. I know we will prevail.
That i am certain of !!!

    Amen Brother!!

I salute all those that frought and died to defend our country and borders form invasion.

And by not defending our borders from this illegal invasion by those entrusted to protect us and the country, it's like spitting in the face of all those that gave their life defending this nation. It enrages me!

Great post stevend. Must have been cool listning to their stories. It's not often many talk about it. Hmm.....reminds me, I have my dads stuff. He kept every letter he got while he was in the Navy. I never read them. Still ingrained in me that if it's not addressed to you, it's none of your business. Should be interesting coz he never talked much about it. I just know he was proud to serve.

And like you I don't beleive the illegals will ever understand this part. I was watching baseball when they had the moment of silence for our vetrans. They asked everyone to remove their hats. They panned the crowds. There were a few men who appeared to look mexican that did not remove their hats. A couple of them turned the cap around so the bill was in the back. Wonder what that signifies?

I am ashamed to admit it but for many years this day was just a picnic day.....the day the pools officially opened.....and I did not give a thought to what this day is for. This one has really hit me. Hard. I've spent alot of time crying and really being grateful for our service people and so afraid their sacrifice will be tossed aside if something isn't done very soon about this invasion and corrupt government. I'm ashamed of taking it for granted and thinking it would always be free. It's never over and we have to keep fighting to protect it.

    Who is in control?

I am sure no illegal aliens have done so as they don't care. These are the same uneducated, ignorant savages that have spat on veterans as they have marched past them, given the finger, defiled our flag and other symbols and labeled us as Nazis. This is from dirt that claims they want to be good citizens but are unwilling to learn and respect the sacrifices that veterans as myself have made which is a hallmark of good citizenshp.

There were a couple of Mexican Americans in my platoon in Viet Nam. They were good Marines. As for the illegals from Mexico their country did not support us in WWI,WWII, Korea or Viet Nam. They do not support our efforts in Iraq (hell some days I don't, they should be protecting our border), and they make a point of always voting against us in the U.N. This country means nothing to them their loyalties are to Mexico and all things Mexican. Their cultural norms do not exclude such things as drunken driving, wife beating and chasing underage girls. I'm not saying these are universal traits but they are not uncommon in their community.

I hope my views are seen as those of a realist and not a racist.

ANDY....Or the Gulf & Iraq. To my knowledge {I could be wrong} I don't think they've ever been side by side with us in any conflict or war.

There is NO THEORETICAL when it comes to AMNESTY. If you want to run theories, then it sounds as though you've given up and caved in. It may happen and it may not happen.......there are no theories in a black and white situation. It's like saying, "theoretically, what if you get hit by a car tomorrow?"

Thinking like that is not how this battle will be won.

Senate has passed the bill But congress has not ... how did they put it ....
Compromised on it ... worked it out.. I see right now alot of grey areas !!
we have no idea right now how congress will vote . And if you have some inside info you are not sharing then please let us know so we dont have to speculate . !!!
I have not given up nor have i caved in . But if you want me to leave why dont you just come out and say so !!!
either i am too strong in my beliefs or i am a coward !!!

..goes to Conference w/House & Senate

    ..IF there is a compromise

ya know I talked about this at the shop yesterday, we went to the Air show at Jones Beach for memorial day, it was full to capacity, and Jones Beach is huge! It was wall to wall people. I looked around at every step, and saw no mexicans. Maybe its because the Marines and the Air Force were there along with a ton of police...
