I have tried to keep this notice simple and direct. I used AltaVista to tanslate it but I'm not sure if everything came out just right. I want to print this up and distribute it as notices at pro-immigrant rallies. We may have to use tactics like this if liberalized legislation is passed in the US. Until there is a change in the law this statement is completely accurate and I would like to begin immediately to do this.

Were you born after 1960? Were you 25 or younger when you entered the United States? If you are a man and over 18 you are required to register with the US Selective Service. If the United States becomes involved in a war then you can be called to go into the military.
There are severe penalties if you do not register your name with the Selective Service System. You can be imprisoned for five years or fined $250,000 or both.

To this: Usted podra ser encarcelado por un maximo de cinco años, multado por $250,000 o ambos.

I added and changed the wording a little

Thank you for your suggestions. I'm not encouraged at all by the national political picture, but it does seem that local action, in the State legislatures for example, is making progress. This would be one tool, of many, that would help people think twice about being here and it doesn't require a big chain of authority. What did you think of the basic message? Too simple or right on? I wanted to keep it accurate but also put some emotional fear in the reader.
