About 120 demonstrators received citations late this afternoon during an immigration rally just outside the Loop.

Chicago police say the demonstrators from the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights rally in Chicago blocked traffic on Clark Street south of Congress Parkway for almost an hour. They rallied in front of the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services building, 101 W. Congress Parkway.

The demonstrators were demanding that the U.S. Congress, especially the Republican-controlled House, quickly pass immigration reform.

Rally organizers say the demonstration was also meant to send a message to President Barack Obama to halt deportations.
