Thread: MSNBC UPDATE ALERT!!!!!

Chip Reed on MSNBC reports that Harry Reid is huddled in the White House with the President and Michael Chertoff is huddling with the Senators trying to get tougher security measures in the bill.

Chip says that the reporting has been all over the place on this story as things continue to change constantly. He said, he overheard Martinez yesterday saying that if this immigration bill came up for a vote, there would be at least 65 votes for it now.

I will continue to monitor this thing throughout the day.

Martinez is a liar. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

He may have been saying that to let the public think this thing is going to fly. Who knows. But we will continue to watch this very closely.

CNN announced a few minutes ago (Rick Sanchez is from Miami, BTW) and showed a clip of the president saying that he is supporting an increase in budget for immediate border security so that we the people will see that they're serious in border security. The increase would come from the fines charged to illegal aliens.

Wait, didn't the AMNESTY BILL say that the fines would NOT have to be paid right away?

Any revenue generating provisions must originate in the House.

Section 7 - Revenue Bills, Legislative Process, Presidential Veto
All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

But, then again, the majority of these bozos don't follow their Constitutional duties anyway.
