    Multiculturalism

This is a thread I started on politcal hotwire forum..

    http://www.politicalhotwire.com/12872-m ... alism.html

I am starting this thread to clarify a rather heated discussion we had the other day regarding Multiculturalism. I may have led some people to believe that I have no interest in other cultures and may have come across as bigoted in doing so.

The United States of America is country of a thousand cultures and this country has been enriched by the multitudes of cultures that have called America their home. However, during this time all these different and proud cultures came to accept what it is to be an American. And when I say become an American I mean they learned the accepted language English; they adopted the philosophies and ideals that made this country great, a love for freedom, hard work, and pride for being part of something as special as this country.

In the past millions of people have immigrated to this country to live the American dream, they loved our country and what it stood for, they proudly stood up and pledged allegiance to the flag; In the past when they came to this country, not with their hands out, but with a desire to work hard and make a better life for their families. They did not march in our streets demanding anything; instead they toiled through hardships and pain to achieve their dreams. The immigrants of the past came here legally, and they came here expecting to become American and they did it legally. And therein lays the problem I have with today's immigrants, both legal and illegal.

There seems to be a real disconnect or should I say a disdain and hate that today's immigrants have for this country. They are more interested in shoving their cultures and religions, and languages down all of our throats. They demand that we accept them with open arms even though they broke our laws getting here in the first place. They request special considerations regarding their religion, they demand that we accommodate their language, and they demand entitlements. Immigrants of the past came to this country mostly empty handed, yet the majority of them were able to prosper, they came with no demands, and only the desire to be an American.

As an American I am offended by the majority of new immigrants, illegal or not. I am offended that they do not want to do things the right way and try to take a shortcut to the American dream. I resent that they demand anything, and expect us to cater to them rather then do the right thing like the millions of immigrants that came before them. I hope this explains a little on my stance.....

It has been quite an effective post. I think I may have a die hard liberal re-thinking his views.

Wow - I saw the comment about being bigoted. I just don't know WHY people say that, and I'm sick to death of it. It's just a way for them to appear not to understand what we're really saying about immigration. They can't deal with the "fine points", so they throw out generalizations. One can tell they aren't exactly intelligent types!

A Scandinavian blogger by the name of Fjordman frequently writes essays for the Gates of Vienna and the Brussels Journal. He asserts in one piece,"Multiculturalism:Communism for the 21st Century" this sentiment.Well worth the read. Here is another piece he wrote on the same theme:
he EU and the Globalist Alliance by Baron Bodissey The noted blogger Fjordman is filing this report via Gates of Vienna. For a complete Fjordman blogography, see The Fjordman Files. There is also a multi-index listing here. Here is an interesting comment about Multiculturalism posted at a website in, of all places, Bangladesh: “Multiculturalism is an unnatural and unhealthy condition that can only afflict countries in national decline. (...) Greed and corruption will characterise the government coupled with oppressive measures directed against its citizens. Lies and deceit will be the stock and trade of media, politicians, and educational institutions.â€

Ronster, this is no surprise. Liberals always resort to pulling out the bigotry and racism cards when you present them with actual facts to prove them wrong. I hate arguing w/ liberals, it's a waste of time.

    Bigot Racist

Call me what you want ....I will defend my country, America the beautiful, her judeo-christian values, her English language, her culture, till my last dying breath.

My loyalty is to one country- the greatest nation on the face of the earth-America
To one flag that flies proud and higher than any other- OLD GLORY

Americans have been blessed like no other people on earth.

And I'm supposed to be worried, concerned, or care in any manner that some criminal invader, illiterate illegal alien, or some socialist/ communist calls me names like bigot or racist.

Many of these losers calling these names are members of MECHa, La Raza (The Race), CAIR, and The Muslim brother hood.
These are supremist, racist/bigot organizations......so what you say is worthless and has no value.

I'm sure these people would be much happier in their third world solcialist hell holes.
    Good Riddance!
Deport Now - Get your useless invading rearend out of my country!
