Thread: My plan to put people to work

The govt is throwing untold billions of dollars into stimulus garbage that isn't doing a thing to get the economy cooking. What is needed is a major project for the whole country ,
I'm talking a project like putting a man on the moon ,

I'm talking about building a high speed train , like the ones in Japan
From Calif to the East coast , with spurs to all 49 states.

How much? A trillion should do it , of course there would also be private money involved. Someone has to actually build it, how many jobs ?

This is probably a shovel ready job

How about improving air travel instead. See NASA N+3 program, begun during the Bush administration, which gets very little credit from liberals for its domestic transit accomplishments.

500,000 new Border Patrol agents.

You know sometimes you just can't win! This could spark a new influx of immigrants to do these jobs. Here's Bill Clinton talking about how 20,000 vietnamese immigrants who came to this country that are making a living off the shrimping business, all of who are thinking about their families facing bankruptcy now.

It doesn't make economic sense, our population centers are too far apart, flying would be quicker and cheaper. It would make sense on the East Coast and California.
