DO YOU THINK THIS WILL BE SPUN?

Do you think the hurricane blowing through Mexico right now will be spun into a situation where we will be told how we need to help the country and people out.Maybe even give refuge and a "path to citizenship" to help out a few thousand or so of Mexicos citizens?
Leaving that countries gov't off the hook of having to provide and care for their own citizenry, while we STILL have Katrina's victims living in formaldehide contaminated trailers and not back on their feet?
I am all for helping others out but, we have really gone above and beyond "helping" Mexico and its people out.
Time to start helping out the US and whats best for her.

Rawhide, I think we will send money and rescue people, as we should help any country in need if we can after a disaster.

BUT TO GIVE AMNESTY OVER A HURRICANE...........NO WAY!!

In fact Mexico should NEED their workers back to HELP!!

We'll see how many illegal aliens in the U.S. ILLEGALLY who speak of how they love their country so.....we'll see how many go back to help!!

I don't think Mexico will get any money from the US that is announced publicly. I think that probably Bush wrote out a check before he left Canada.

As I said I am all for helping out other countries when disaster strikes but what I said about bringing some of the effected to the US has some basis-during past earthquakes and other natural disasters we(Pres. Bush) gave legal status/citizenship to many in the effected areas, such as the mother who I read about several months ago that was given US status because of an earthquake and has been here for 8 or so years and LEFT her 2-3 year old "back home" to be raised by a relative. There were i think a few thousand that were given the same pass.

At the next soccer game between Mexico and the US, played in the US will Americans be chanting Hurricane Dean over and over? No and that's the fundamental point. My aunt was at the soccer game where the Mexicans chanted Osama, Osama over and over. It wasn't the stereotypical 19 year old, it wasn't some Mexican cowboy, she said it was everyone...Mexicans of all ages and class. The people of Mexico are of a hateful and spiteful brood. Ruled by bacchanalian revelry that gives them a sense of greed and entitlement, where other cultures spend contemplation and care on civility, the Mexican citizen splurges on self gratification in the moment, painting everything they see with a glassy eyed stupid gaze, scanning the surroundings for exploitation. The poor in Mexico are not a philosophical bunch who don't have because they do not have the disease of greed, they are just folk who are waiting for their turn at getting over. The poor in other countries are many times victims, in Mexico they are just last in line. So yeah, my guess is that they EXPECT American assistance. The Mexican government doesn't even have to plan or expend their resources.

My rescue mission would be to play a tape of the Osama Osama chants from a low flying helicopter over the Hurricane site. I think Americans for too long have loved to play the martyr. They love to step up and help and what that has done is create a sense of entitlement and expectation. Look how Germans treated Americans in Germany after WW2! Look at how the French treated Americans after WW2! Every other country in the world expects us to open our pockets no matter how they treat us. I for one am sick of it, to be perfectly honest. So if I am asked to donate (which is inevitable) I will just chant Osama, Osama, over and over.
