If they really want to stop predatory lending, then they need to stop the cause and that's illegal immigration. Illegals have created the market and a demand for high interst unsecure loans.

Illegals don't have bank accounts, they don't have ID, they don't have credit histories in their name... They can not get a conventional loan like Americans so they go to these people that will give them the money for a price. They asked for it, they got it.

Notice the 44 million number there? Seems they have, again, tried to lump the Hispanics who are illegally here in with Americans of Hispanic descent. Low tactics to make it sound like it is ALL Hispanics this predatory lending affects, we all know Americans of Hispanic descent are in the same boat as the rest of us, it is the illegals they most likely are having to defend in this.

I sense whiny "I'm a victim" sob stories here.
Populist, you are so right, it is another victimization of only the illegals, we all know that NO one victimizes us (Americans) when it comes to predatory lending (NOTE THE HEAVY SARCASTIC TONE!!!!).

I can hardly wait to see the numbers!

IMO, this was a joint venture between lenders, the Bush Administration and Mexico. WHERE WERE THE FEDERAL REGULATORS???? Where were the watchdogs???? EVERYONE knew what was going on!!!

Outside of the lenders, the big winners were the thousands of hispanic (anchor baby type) opportunists who rushed in to get their sales licenses so that they could target every legal and illegal buyer in the country! They all made an ungodly fortune for the past few years!

As for the illegals, they were winners too...all they did was pack up and walk out the door leaving the banks holding the bag. The next day they just assumed a new identity!

I wish we could prosecute the hispanic realtors (especially at Century 21) and their buyers who were the real perpetrators of this fraud!

I have already seen several boo-hoo type stories about this. Typically, it is some family earning $50,000 a year who buys a $750,000 house- what were they thinking? Then they say "Oh well we didn't understand the papers". Well then why did you sign them, genius? Of course some of the houses were promptly carved up into little 'apartments' that they then rented out to other illegals, including having people living in the garage.
This whole thing stinks to high heaven.

What's really funny here is that NCLR was probably putting pressure on the predatory lenders to give the same deals to their illegal buddies. Now they want to claim those same folks as victims.
