Napolitano: Obama A ‘Candidate For Impeachment’ If Immigration Laws Not Enforced Correctly [VIDEO]

According to Judge Andrew Napolitano, President Obama could be come a candidate for impeachment over the next two years if he enforces immigration policies “in such a way that it is the opposite of what the law is intended to do.” While the president, Napolitano claims, can open the borders, issue green cards to whoever he chooses, and stop deportations, he cannot ultimately “make illegals legal.”
The Judge also lays blame at this possibility at the feet of both Republican and Democratic controlled Congresses, saying they’ve given presidents of both parties “extraordinary authority.”
Napolitano made the comments to “Special Report” host Bret Baier Thursday night.
Napolitano: Both Republican Congresses and Democratic Congresses have given to Democratic and Republican presidents extraordinary authority. Now here’s what he can’t do: He can’t make illegals legal. But he can do the following: He can open the borders. Arguably, he did that a few months ago with the Central American children in Texas. He can issue green cards to whoever he wants. He can stop deportations for the rest of his presidency. I agree with A.B. [Stoddard], that will be so inflammatory. If the Republicans take the Senate, you’ll see the “I” word, impeachment, being bandied about. Whether they want to do it, whether they think it harms them in 2016, is a political judgment. But it would be a profound reason to discuss it because, when the president exercises his discretion about how to enforce the law in such a way that it is the opposite of what the law is intended to do, then he has violated his oath to uphold the law, and is a candidate for impeachment.
