Stopping the North American Super Corridor

While their website claims they do not support the ILLEGAL movement of peoples and products looking over their plans reveals a completely different story. I would like to be clear that I think a large North-South HWY system and a large East-West HWY system would do this country great, but this system appears to have alterior motives.

Moving on to the point at hand. On thier website they show a map with "NASCO Member States". These states are Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa and Wisconsin. They are missing Kansas and Missouri.

That is where we stop them. In Kansas and Missouri, without those two states this outrageous scheme will not be completed.

    map: http://www.nascocorridor.com/add_a_map.html

EDIT: as i assumed, their map now shows the corridor cuting around 35 HWY in KS because that part of the HWY is privately owned by the KTA. I had believed that they would not support this project. The area it is aimed at cutting through is cattle grazing and oil field country. I don't think those land owners will allow their land to be taken for this, so we have a good chance at stopping it.

I agree, the highway needs to be stopped, but we must not underestimate the federal governments ability and willingness to use eminent domain to accomplish their goal.

There is a video on WFAA about abuse of Toll Tags for the George Bush Turnpike. Gratis tags are passed out to politicians, government officials, employees and board members of the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA). About 3,000 individuals and dozens of agencies are in possession of these toll tags. They estimate the lost revenue for these tags is approximately 1.3 million a year. What caught the attention of WFAA is the fact that people who have been given these free passes are deceased but the tags are still in use.

My beef is that these people can pay the darn toll, just like the rest of us that use the tollway. I don't think these people are all that special. Besides, it's real easy to raise the rates, when it wont be effecting you personally. Can you imagine the abuse of a monstrosity like the NAFTA Super Highway or the TCC? No one should get a free ride.

    In Kansas and Missouri

    NEWS FLASH
I have to check as I'm not remembering the details.

Louisiana is now in process with TWO OTHER STATES for a hook up.
Their deal will end in the Kansas area.

Let me get the accurate information about this for you. I did post something here - I remember being very upset because the information WAS AN INSERT - AN INSERT! in the newspaper!! Not an article that could be archived and located for ref. It came from the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce.

    Anyone remember it?
