Nation's Veterans Consider Joining Fight to Lower Immigration

WASHINGTON (March 6, 2007) -- The national annual American Legion legislative conference yesterday afternoon focused on the nation's immigration policies. NumbersUSA Executive Director Roy Beck, who is also a U.S. Army veteran and Legionaire, joined Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and others in a discussion about how elevated immigration numbers are destroying the American way of life that our nation's veterans risked their lives to preserve.

While the national bureaucracies of nearly every sector (business, labor, religion, academe, media, political parties, etc.) promote higher and higher levels of foreign workers, immigration and population growth, the American Legion's national leadership is almost unique among membership organizations in that it has resisted the call of the elites for open borders. Instead, it has been constrained by the large number of its members who are urging more involvement in blocking amnesties and other immigration increases.

The American Legion's membership is composed of three million men and women who have served in the armed forces during times of war (WWII through the present war in Iraq & Afghanistan). All veterans and citizens who wish to support and join the veterans are invited to CLICK HERE to send free faxes.

Senate Votes to Expand Visa Waiver Program

The Senate continues debate today on S. 4, a bill that would implement unfulfilled security recommendations of the 9/11 Commission. The Senate on February 28 adopted a potentially dangerous amendment sponsored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) that would grant DHS the authority to expand the Visa Waiver Program.
