Good points there. Stuff like that happens here in New Mexico with Hispanics who don't speak Spanish or who do not care for certain aspects of Hispanic culture. I do laugh at a lot of these activist groups who pretty much deny the fact that a lot of mestizo Hispanics have European heritage and that some Hispanic traditions are rooted back to Europe. I also laugh at people who don't think of the Spanish language being a European language.
