NC: Alamance County Considered A Hub For Drug Traffickers
Alamance County Considered A Hub For Drug Traffickers

Alamance County -- Mexican drug traffickers are using a rural North Carolina County as a hub, according to an agent with Drug Enforcement Administration.
"What we are seeing is cocaine, marijuana, heroin and meth," explained DEA Agent Wally Serniak. "Most of the drugs seized here are not destined for here." He said the drugs are often transported from Alamance County to New York, Ohio, Chicago and D.C.
According to Serniak, drug traffickers are using Alamance County as a hub because it is rural and has easy access to two interstates.
"We don't have the manpower some of the major cities have," added Sheriff Terry Johnson. "They feel less they're less likely to be detected."
Serniak says often drugs are smuggled across the Mexican border into United States. From there, he says the drugs are transported to Alamance County.
Over the past few years, Serniak says the DEA has confiscated large quantities narcotics, weapons and cash from drug traffickers who are in the county illegally.
Serniak said there are on-going drug stings in Alamance County, but he did not offer details.

There is a 2:36 minute video at the link
Alamance County Commissioners met on Monday to address the county's increasing problems with drug trafficking.
The U.S. Department of Justice says Alamance County has become a hub for drug traffickers. This year, Sheriff Terry Johnson says 9 of the county's 29 death investigations have been drug related.
In a presentation to County Commissioners, Agent Wally Serniak says more than $3 million in drug money destined for Mexico originated in Alamance County over the past year.
"Traditionally, Mexican nationals were not a violent transportation crew. We didn't used to see guns with drugs. Now we do. They have to arm themselves because they're going to get ripped off," said Agent Serniak.
The DEA estimates 80 to 90% of the people involved in the two major Alamance drug busts over the past three years were illegal immigrants. However, it's not always the case.
"We've seen the generational takeover of these drug traffickers. Now, many of them have been naturalized. They were born here. So they're not illegal."

I am so glad we are educating all these illegal kids and anchor babies. Giving them in-state tuition for college further promotes them becoming better businessmen. Now where do you make more money; a taco stand or a drug trafficking business? I just hope they are paying their taxes on their profits.

They don't worry about taxes and death. They love this steal and take country. And our elected official love, them. It is the sale taxes and not the federal taxes. But then again the rich are going to get hit soon by federal taxes.

The illegal alien invasion has practically ruined the state of NC. From the drugs, drunk driving and the huge number of anchor babies starting school every year, this once beautiful state is sinking under the weight of these people.

There is plenty of blame to pass around to politicians and corporations and even some small businesses out there that are hiring illegals (for instance lawn care businesses and others) Plus the ability to get drivers licenses and fraudulent papers and social benefits and emergency room health care plans
