    Nevada Election Results Delayed

    Nevada Election Results Delayed

    UPDATED: 7:58 pm PDT November 2, 2010

LAS VEGAS -- Long lines at polling locations in northern Nevada have held up Tuesday's election results, according to Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller.

"No results of any statewide races can be reported in any county until all polls across the state are closed," Miller said in a statement. He could not say how long the vote count would take.

A power outage in Henderson briefly delayed voting at Schofield Elementary School earlier in the evening, after a vehicle hit a transformer at Eastern Avenue and the 215 Beltway.

Angle wins I's, not necessarily R's

Exit polls in Nevada show Republican Sharron Angle winning independent voters by a 10-point margin but holding less of her own party's votes than Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid held of his.

Angle had a 50-40 lead among independents, according to the poll, with 5 percent telling pollsters they picked Nevada's unique "none of these candidates" option and another 5 percent choosing another candidate or not to answer.

Reid was pulling 91 percent of Democrats, while Angle had 86 percent of Republicans, according to the poll. Democrats made up 34 percent of the electorate to the GOP's 33 percent, while 32 percent of voters were nonpartisan.

Angle led 50-44 among men, while Reid had a 51-43 edge among women voters; the electorate was split 50-50 between the two sexes.

Angle won 55 percent of white voters, who made up 71 percent of the electorate. Reid won big among minorities, winning 67 percent of Latino voters, who made up 16 percent of the electorate.

Sounds to me that they are trying to keep the polls open to help Harry Reid. A low turnout favors Angle... but, I think Angle will pull It off
