LAS VEGAS, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. Sen. Harry Reid won Nevada's two most populous counties Tuesday, indicating the Senate majority leader will retain his seat.

Reid won Clark and Washoe counties, Secretary of State Ross Miller's unofficial results Web site indicated nearly 2 hours after most polls closed. With an unknown percentage of precincts reporting, Reid led Republican challenger Sharron Angle 52 percent to 44 percent, silverstate2010.com said.

Nevada's U.S. Senate contest is one of the most anticipated races in the country.

A power outage and long lines delayed Nevada's election results Miller said.

"No results of any statewide races can be reported in any county until all polls across the state are closed," Miller said in a statement, KVVU-TV, Las Vegas, reported.

Miller said long lines in Elko in the eastern part of the state could keep polls open later than expected. A power outage briefly interrupted voting at Schofield Middle School in Henderson outside Las Vegas, but it was quickly restored and voting continued, KLAS-TV, Las Vegas, said.

    Well Reid wins.

We can fight the government, but we can't fight the citizens.
