New Mexico Protest Organizers Say Susana MartÃ*nez's Policies Will Reverse Immigrant Gains

Gov. Susana Martinez's hardline immigration policies were the target of a protest by Somos Un Pueblo Unido at the state Capitol.

Hundreds of immigrants rights activists rallied at the Capitol Monday to protest Gov. Susana MartÃ*nez’s immigration policies.

Carrying signs that said "New Mexico is Not Arizona," "Susana, Don't Play Politics With Public Safety" and "Licensed Drivers are Safer Drivers," protesters said her moves threaten to reverse gains in the relationship between immigrants and law enforcement officials in the last several years.

The group that organized the protest, Somos Un Pueblo Unido, and other critics of the governor’s policies, have assailed MartÃ*nez’s recent executive order requiring state law enforcement to check the immigration status of criminal suspects. They also have denounced her support for proposed measures that would revoke the driver’s licenses of undocumented immigrants.

These raza even eat their own, don't they? Note how they go back and forth between the terms immigrants and undocumented immigrants? Can't make up their minds if they want to lie or to tell the truth.

I'm just thinking of all the illegals who are non Latino including the more recently published illegal Indians and those Indians caught up in the sham university game who LaRaza, ACLU, and other groups don't want to help also. Apprently their movement is ONLY for latino's and if your not latino your just stealing a spot a latino could fill.

Not AZ? No wonder the illegals were on the news here saying that they were gonna run to NM because NM will give them a drivers license!

The latinos keep protesting because their press keeps pushing that they are being singled out, that even though they are illegal that they deserve all the rights that a REAL AMERICAN have. They are not only illegal they are criminals and certainly NOT AMERICANS. They need to be removed from our communities, schools and workplaces. If no documentation then they need to be deported with no delays or request for second hearings. Time we get them off the taxpayers backes, time they stop receiving free everything and giving nothing in return. Time they are cleaned out and the border secured so they do not come back.
