New Threat from GOP's Secret Summer Amnesty

Updated:

Mon, Jun 9th 2014 @ 11:43 am EDT by Anne Manetas

The Amnesty Threat Level is at Code Red this week.
It was raised again late last week when our Capitol Hill team got word that Reps. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.), Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), and Mario Diaz Balart (R-Fla.) are polling their fellow House Republicans to measure support for moving an amnesty bill before the August recess. Reportedly, if they can get enough Republicans on board with their plan, House Leadership will do a formal whip count and move an immigration bill to the floor of the House before the August recess.
This latest development confirms rumors we began hearing a few months ago that the House GOP Leadership might bring an amnesty bill to the floor after the filing deadlines for the 2014 primaries. Now that most of the deadlines have passed, the push for a House-passed amnesty is heating up. Confirmation of these reports came again this morning in a Breitbart News article by Jonathan Strong quoting Rep. Mark Amodei (R-N.V.) describing a "quiet whip effort" underway.
"They started a quiet whip count, trying to gauge what the support was for doing something on immigration within the Republican conference. We want to see where we stand on that whip count because, obviously, the Speaker does not want to get out in front of it and then have the limb sawed off behind him," Amodei said.
Apparently these amnesty Republicans have so little respect for their constituents, especially the unemployed ones, that now that most appear likely to win their elections in November, they feel free to move forward catering to the well-funded lobbyists who are pushing for amnesty and more foreign workers.
This is the biggest threat we have faced this year. Even if the House passes a limited bill, it could be used by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and amnesty champion Sen Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) as a vehicle to tack on the Senate-passed Schumer-Obama amnesty (S. 744). Of course, this bill would have to go back to the House for approval, but with 192 Democrats already signed on to a discharge petition to bring the House version of S. 744 to the floor for a vote, only a handful of Republican votes would be needed for passage.
Your indefatigable efforts all year have created tremendous frustration for Big Business and special interest lobbyists who have been pushing all year for any size amnesty bill they can get to the House floor. Your heroic activism has left their hands hanging out of their well-funded pockets wondering what to do next in order to get their coveted amnesty. Please take a few moments today and place a phone call that can help stop their Secret Summer Amnesty plan before it gets out of the gate. We've done it before and we can do it again.
Find your Congressman's telephone number here.

I had expected to find a number for my congressman, Steve Daines, but nothing there.
It would be helpful if you post the links for the numbers if you want us to call.

All I can say that if amnesty, in any form, is granted to the illegal aliens, KISS THIS COUNTRY GOODBYE! We will have millions upon millions more illegal aliens crossing the border as they are doing now. Why can the republicans see this and get rid of all the illegal aliens? We don't want them and we sure don't need them.

International pressure may be a tool we need to start using, too. Do we need another season of "underground railroad" to assist these aliens in getting to Canada? Just to increase the pressure from Canada upon the government on the USA to secure its borders.
Ms.McLeod really took it to Obama. Suggesting that he is racist would get Americans called many names, none complimentary.

Yes, these children are being used as pawns. Mr. Holder, is that who as a nation we are?

These children are not as innocent as they may look. Everyone of them will eventually steal a job from your child or grandchild.

AMNESTY is happening as We speak!
The illegal aliens coming through Mexico into Our Southern Border is just like when the U.S. Government advertised food stamps in Mexican Consulates.

NumbersUSA Staff,
I know we have our hands full with this amnesty fight right now, but we have another serious problem. When one considers all of the executive actions that have been taken and the current rush to the border of minors, there is no question whatsoever that we now have immigration anarchy. I would think the legal arguments against these executive actions are very, very strong. We have to find a way to get this into court. We came close with that Border Patrol challenge to DACA, but the judge dismissed that on a convenient technicality. I find it very difficult to believe that there is no citizen that has standing to challenge these actions in court. The Constitution, as originally written, was all about checks and balances. We need to get this all into court, and surely there must be a way.

Yes, the amnesty fight is the primary concern now. I understand your point about litigation but it is, apparently, easier said than done. The situation is bad but it will get worse if the Administration hands out more work permits and documents. That's our secondary concern now.

Thanks for the reply Van. I completely understand that we need to focus on the Congressional amnesty fight right now. What concerns me however is that, the way things are going, even if we do defeat this amnesty push in Congress, our laws will go totally unenforced and we will indeed have a de facto amnesty. The fact that they are seriously talking about allowing illegal aliens to enlist in the military, which is blatantly illegal, is testimony to just how far this has gone. The Navy doesn't even allow citizens who have illegal spouses or dependents to enlist due to security/personnel reliability issues.

That still seems to be a good sized "IF." However. it is possible, some organizations are trying to organize to press for that at the polls for Cantor and and Lindsey Graham, to inform voters of their pro - amnesty stances and voting week flip-flops. At least some recognize that it is more than an administration problem. Hopefully enough voters do, that is the BIG "IF." Voters often vote for the ones who had the most and most expensive ads, unfortunate but true. Tehy do not understand that those that have money and motive, often ulterior motive, pay for those ads.

A good friend of mine lives in Cantor's district and rarely votes anymore out of disgust for the GOP. She's voting against Cantor tomorrow and has talked about 5 people into voting against him too. She said there's a lot of disgust with Cantor. I'm praying Dave Brat pulls off a miracle, but Cantor is slimy enough to commit some kind of voting fraud. If Cantor goes down, watch the push for amnesty to go down with him.

These new 3 stooges -- mick, paul and Mario are more incredibly stupid than original three stooges -- moe, larry and curly! They block all best solutions to our fastest growing illegal immigration problem by enforcing our law. Although they know that our national security is threatened and our borders are now defenseless because of Obama's refusal to enforce our federal immigration law, they focus seriously on amnesty bill first and are too busy with it. They are in a frenzy of wanting to get it done too soon. They have no time to remove Obama and have no time to demand impeachment! They refuse to represent the interests of the American citizens. They are really not our friends. They do anything they can to help U.S. Chamber of Commerce -- like they are ignoring all kinds of laws for them! Money matters to them! Humanitarian relief is not necessary. In fact, Obama promotes more and more new lawless foreign invaders to come here. He asks for more new trouble. He would better stop picking on U.S. taxpayers! Send all of these illegal aliens back to their home country NOW! Broken immigration system perfectly equals amnesty. NO amnesty. NO special treatment for lawless foreign invaders! We owe nothing to them! Secure our borders first NOW!

I realy hate to say this but this is the beginning of "THE NEW WORLD ORDER". If people would take their heads out of the sand and see it for what it is maybe we could hold it off for awhile longer. We need to pray like never before.Elections are as phony as the people who say they represent us. They would not extend my unemployment but they are hell bent on letting 15 to 20 million illegals run amuck in this country destroying everything we have built and made. This is a sad day.

If Obama was blindsided by this influx walking in as if invited, I am truly concerned about CIA border intelligence. Now they've advertised that an army only needs to appear to be older teenagers in appearance to walk right up to border patrol stations. Congress should be all over the CIA with this, but not one word!

As many are aware terrorists have no qualms about using children to fight and as shields in the middle east. They will use the tactic here it's only a matter of when not if.
This is just another manufactured crisis by barry and this admin to take the heat off him for the real scandals: VA, Benghazi, IRS, Fast & Furious. While this current crisis is important to our security and nation as a whole, we must not let barry dictate the focus.

Back in my days of college, we discussed the pendulum theory and rubber band theory. It can be applied to what's happening to Americans today who are being pulled by our Government officials to give away our American jobs, resources, and services to illegal immigrants. Our States are stretched beyond their financial means - going bankrupt and destroying our Middle Class families. It is time for the pendulum to swing back the other way. So Americans go to the polls in droves, and vote these traitors out of office. Tell your friends and family what's really happening. Let the email, texts, faxes and bumper sticker wars begin.

The Only Immigration Reform We Need:
- NATIONWIDE MANDATORY e-VERIFY, plus
- SECURE COMMUNITIES ACT.

e-Verify removes the magnet of money that draws the Illegals. Once it is gone, they will stop coming here and start going home.
SCA catches about 1 million Illegals per year committing other crimes. Local police just hand them over to ICE for deportation.
Together, these two existing laws could 'remove' all 11 million Illegals in less than 10 years.
We don't need any 'new' laws. We want existing laws enforced on a national basis.
You need to forget about AMNESTY; it wouldn't even work, as it would just draw in more Illegals.

I'm reading and listening to all the comments being made. As a matter of fact, I've been reading these same comments for decades. NOTHING ever gets done to solve the problem. The criminals in Washington don't want to solve the problem because they are all puppets of their corporate masters. The solution is really simple: This current government has to go, dems and repubs alike.
Jesus was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. America is being betrayed for the same greedy, self-serving reason.
We're crazy if we think the same people that created the problem are going to solve it. We the people of this country are the only ones that can solve the illegal immigration problem.
Ultimately, we are the only ones that can solve any of America's problems. However, the first thing we need to do before we set about the very serious business of saving our beloved nation, our home is: REMOVE THIS CORRUPT, EVIL, GOVERNMENT!
Almighty God in Heaven, I hate watching what they're doing to this nation. The America that we all love is going, and she's going fast.
