No comments on costs of protests to cities

Did you notice in all the article we've read about Friday and Saturday's massive protests, not a single article mentioned the monetary expense these cities uncured from anything from calling out extra police resources to cleaning up the garbage left behind.

What's with these reporters? Do they think city services grow on tree?

Interesting analogy there. When a city has to add 150 more kindergartners than they did last year, does the classroom space and teachers grow on trees?

When these kindergartners get sick and their parents don't have health insurance, does the medical care they seek grow on trees?

    Food for thought...

And none at all on the businesses closed so all their illegal employees could attend this jamboree. That will make an interesting report to ICE if anyone was gethering that data.

OK...this got me to thinking, so I did some web based searches, and came up with this quote on a protest held in San Francisco that was smaller than scope than the one in LA:

The city said last week that the protests were costing taxpayers $900,000 a day, half of that in police overtime.

That should give us a starting point.
