Nothing bright about Feingold on immigration
A letter to the editor — 12/31/2007 11:53 am

Dear Editor: In the Times' Dec. 26 editorial, "Don't tell us to like Joe McCarthy," we are told that Sen. Russ Feingold is the "bright side" of Wisconsin politics? How so?

Readers have only to take a quick look at Feingold's abysmal voting record on immigration legislation to learn that the answer is nothing, absolutely nothing.

The next time he shows up in your community during his annual statewide "listening sessions" tour, ask him to explain his failing grade from Americans for Better Immigration: http://grades.betterimmigration.com/tes ... I&VIPID862.

For the record, I am a sorely disappointed independent voter still waiting for either political party to develop the required backbone necessary to enforce our immigration laws to the fullest extent.
