Dear Donna,



Attached is a letter I co-signed and sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Republican Leader John Boehner about the employee verification system. With the national unemployment rate increasing and many Middle Tennesseans struggling to weather the current economic storm, the need for a mandatory employee verification system has never been greater. The letter urges House leadership to include job protection provisions for American workers in any future economic recovery legislation.



The Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009 (H.R.1105), signed into law on March 11, extended funding for the E-Verify program through September 30, 2009. Know I will not rest until this country has a permanently funded and mandatory system for confirming that employees are qualified to work in the U.S.
