Harrowing New Report Brings Clinton
Counterterrorism Failure In Focus

A horrific new report from UNICEF sheds light on the rise of African terrorist group Boko Haram’s gruesome use of young girls as suicide bombers. As the New York Times reports:

One of every five suicide bombers deployed by Boko Haram in the past two years has been a child, usually a girl, according to a report released Tuesday by Unicef.

The news also brings one of Hillary Clinton’s biggest foreign policy failures back into focus: the State Department’s refusal, against the urging of the FBI, CIA, military, and a bipartisan group of members of Congress to label Boko Haram a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

UNICEF’s report comes at a time that CNN’s Jake Tapper calls “a rather grim anniversary” of Boko Haram’s kidnapping of hundreds of Nigerian school girls, an act so shocking it drew widespread international coverage.

At the time of kidnappings, Hillary Clinton was quick to tweet #BringBackOurGirls, yet when she had the power to label Boko Haram the brutal terrorist group that it is, she failed to act.

Josh Rogin from the Daily Beast detailed Clinton's glaring hypocrisy in an extensive report in 2014:

The State Department under Hillary Clinton fought hard against placing the al Qaeda-linked militant group Boko Haram on its official list of foreign terrorist organizations for two years.

And now, lawmakers and former U.S. officials are saying that the decision may have hampered the American government’s ability to confront the Nigerian group that shocked the world by abducting hundreds of innocent girls.

While Hillary Clinton touts her record as Secretary of State as a measure of her leadership, the devastating consequences of the failed Obama-Clinton foreign policy are on full display.
