There’s quite a bit of TDS going on, even from some used-to-be-Republican. What is the truth? Let’s check the link that Nicolette failed to read

A pair of young German travelers were left shocked after they arrived in Hawaii only to be detained and deported due to their loosely planned trip.

Charlotte Pohl, 19, and Maria Lepere, 18, arrived in Honolulu to begin their trip but were grilled extensively by Customs and Border Protection.

The pair planned to explore before traveling on to California and Costa Rica, but they hadn’t booked any accommodation for their five-week stay in Hawaii.

It was the lack of planning that alerted CBP, despite the pair having obtained ESTA travel authorization, German news outlet Ostee-Zeitung originally reported.

The two were accused of potential illegal work intentions and, after hours of questioning, they were placed in handcuffs and taken to what they later found to be a deportation detention center, Beat of Hawaii reported.

So, pretty much entitled youths who learned that having zero accommodations is a big red flag to CBP. Things like this happen all the time, every year, but, they don’t make the news when Trump isn’t president. Hell, Trump probably learned about this having happened from the news. Maybe on Twitter. And laughed. Because every country has rules for visitors. Follow them. If they think Trump is micro-managing this much these TDS addled moonbats are wonkers.

All the media outlets are running with this, Blaming Trump.

The scientist, the 30-year-old Russian-born Kseniia Petrova, worked at Harvard’s renowned Kirschner Lab until her arrest at a Boston airport in mid-February. She is now being held at ICE’s Richwood Correctional Center in Monroe, Louisiana, and fighting possible deportation to Russia, where she said she fears persecution and jail time over her protests against the war in Ukraine.

“I would call it a grinding machine,” Petrova, who spoke with NBC News from the Louisiana facility, said about being detained. “We are in this machine, and it doesn’t care if you have a visa, a green card, or any particular story. … It just keeps going.”

But, um, finally

Dr. Leon Peshkin, a principal research scientist at Harvard’s Department of Systems Biology and Petrova’s manager and mentor, received a call from Customs and Border Protection on Feb. 16 after agents detained Petrova at Logan International Airport in Boston for failing to declare samples of frog embryos to be used in scientific research.

That would be called “smuggling”

A DHS spokesperson told NBC News on Monday that Petrova had been “lawfully detained after lying to federal officers about carrying substances into the country.”

And that would also be a legal offense, for which she continued to lie. And, I thought Democrats hated Russians these days? You would think such a critical cancer research scientist would be smart enough to, oh I don’t know, not smuggle illegal stuff into the country where she’s a guest and lie about it. She dug her own hole. The blame is on her. Maybe if the media wants some credibility, and NBC News spent a lot of words without saying “she broke the law and it’s her own fault”, they would stop with the TDS.
