One American casualty is too many.

That argument seems to come in handy for the democrats when they are criticizing the war, but how come that argument is null and void for illegal immigration?

BTW - did anyone see the La Raza plant who conveniently slammed Lou Dobbs? The videos are not yet posted on you tube.

Last night on the debates, there was a q&a time that was supposed to be from "independant voters". One person who asked about immigration made sure to make a point to say that Lou Dobbs was demonizing them (the illegals). At the bottom of the screen it listed his latino-advocacy group. I think it's pretty convenient that he was an "indpendant voter" that got time on national tv to ask a steered question to the candidates! Of course Bill Richardson replied with "Mexico is our friend" and "Lets ask Mexico to give it's cititzens jobs" which is a very naive and incompetant answer.

The fact that they allowed the woman to ask Hillary about whether she prefers pearls or diamonds as the very last questions tells me a bunch:

a). All the questions were submitted beforehand (and screened!)

b). The questioners were identified prior to the event

c). The order of the questions was 'arranged' as well.

In short, it was much more planned, well, let's say 'circumscribed' than many would imagine...

I agree. I think it's completely uncalled for to have a racially focused group given national air time to futher their well planned attack against Lou Dobbs. Where was the minuteman asking a question? What about Ted Hayes? Why couldn't he ask a question?

I'm checking you tube but I don't see the video clips yet.

All I can find now is what the question was. Once all the video clips are posted, check this guy out and see what group he is from listed at the bottom.

Immigration and Terrorism | 9:48 p.m. Really smart question from a voter who asked whether fighting terrorism and slowing immigration were intertwined.
Mr. Richardson responded with his plan for dealing with immigration, not precisely addressing the question. Mr. Dodd, who voted for a fence with Mexico, responds in Spanish, which drew a big grin from the voter. Mr. Dodd then said there should be no correlation between fighting terrorism and slowing immigration. It’s a flawed notion, he said, that to be safer we have to give up rights.
