One student was killed and three others were injured in Wednesday morning's stabbings at Spring High School north of Houston, according to Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia. Three students are being held for questioning in connection with the incident, Garcia said. The student who died was 17, he said.

The stabbings happened at Spring High School shortly after 7 a.m. CT, the office said.

Information on who was stabbed, what led to the stabbings and whether anyone was arrested wasn't immediately available.

Law enforcement officers were securing the site Wednesday morning, and it appeared no one else was in immediate danger, the sheriff's office said.

The school is about 20 miles north-northwest of central Houston.

HOUSTON -- A 17-year-old student was fatally stabbed and three other students were injured Wednesday morning after a fight at a Houston-area high school, officials said.

The stabbing was reported shortly after 7 a.m. CDT at Spring High School, about 25 miles north of downtown Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

One student tweeted a photo of a blood splatter on the floor inside the school, which has more than 3,000 students and its own school district police.

Three students were detained in connection with the stabbing, officials said, adding that two students sustained minor injuries and a third was reportedly in surgery.

“It was an ongoing battle between kids [of different races]," Pastor E.A. Deckard of the Green House International Church told reporters as he was flanked by family members of one of the victims. "A simple misunderstanding that has been ongoing over a period of time.... This was not gang violence."

One student tweeted that there was "blood everywhere" after the fight, which students said happened in the cafeteria.

"what happened?! They all just trampled me," another student asked. "somebody got stabbed lmao," replied the other student, who added, "Seeing that boy walking down the hallway with blood dripping off of him really broke ny heart the most."

Other students tweeted that there were some racial tensions at the school and worried about revenge attacks.

Parents had flocked to the school searching for news as a fleet of school buses pulled up. One parent, speaking with KHOU-TV, said her daughter called her and said, "Mom, I have a young man here who just fell dead on me.”

"Right now I’m going to get my daughter into counseling, and see what I could do got get her removed from Spring High School, because it could have been my child," said the woman, who was not identified by KHOU-TV.

Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia said that officials had no persons of interest beyond the three students detained for questioning, who remained unidentified.
Garcia said investigators had yet to recover any weapons, which were thought to be "cutting instruments." School police arrived at the scene within a minute of the fight breaking out, Garcia said.

Ralph H. Draper, superintendent of the Spring Independent School District, expressed his sympathies for the victims and their families. He said officials hoped to have the students out of the school by noon.

“Every parent sends their child to school believing that school should be one of the safe-haven places.… It’s what we spend our night and days working for, and what I lose sleep over," Draper said. “We go into this business to make life better for children.

Student Arrested for High School Stabbing

SPRING, Texas (AP) --

A 17-year-old male student has been charged with murder in a deadly knife fight at a Houston-area high school.

A Harris County Sheriff's Office statement says Luis Alonzo Alfaro was charged in the fight at Spring High School that killed a student Wednesday.

The stabbing happened during a fight between several students in a school corridor. The sheriff's statement says that during the fight, Alfaro pulled a knife and stabbed a 17-year-old student to death and wounded three other students.

The three survivors were treated at a hospital and discharged.

The statement says Alfaro admitted the stabbing under questioning by sheriff's homicide detectives.

School district officials have canceled classes at the high school for the rest of the week.

The 17-year-old Spring High School student who was charged Wednesday with felony murder allegedly told investigators that a shoulder bump in the school's cafeteria led to the fatal stabbing.

Luis Alonzo Alfaro was booked into a Harris County jail with bond set at $50,000. Alfaro gave investigators a voluntary statement where he allegedly said that when he entered the school's cafeteria just after 7 a.m., he bumped shoulders with a male student. Words were exchanged. He reportedly told investigators he shoved the male student and then another black male near him punched him on the left side of his face, MyFoxHouston.com reported.

Alfaro allegedly told investigators that he exchanged punches with the male student but others joined in. Alfaro pulled a folding knife from his shorts, the statement said. He used his left forearm to protect his face and while holding the knife in his right hand began swinging it in a back-and-fourth motion multiple times, according to reports. Three other students were injured in the altercation.

Joshua Broussard suffered multiple wounds, consistent with a sharp-edged instrument, to his abdomen area. Broussard collapsed and died in a hallway near the cafeteria, MyFoxHouston.com reported.

School district officials canceled classes at the high school for the rest of the week. Alfaro remains in the Harris County Jail on $150,000 bond.

Thanks for the info. Black and Hispanic riots now in the Texas schools like CA. Hope the Texans know that it only gets worse from here as long as the borders remain undefended.
