I know its mid week , but I just had to do this one

Gary Moore of Thin Lizzy was found dead in a hotel room on Costa del Sol. He died Sunday, Feb. 6, at 58 years old. The cause of death was not immediately known. Moore played guitar for the Irish band Thin Lizzy for three separate stints during the '70s, according to Rollingstone.com. Gary Moore also released 20 solo albums, says Guardian.co.uk.

Moore started as a blues guitarist. He was influenced by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac. His first gig was with Skid Row alongside future Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott. Moore was recruited by Lynott into Thin Lizzy for the first time in 1973. Moore's bluesy style brought depth to their sound.

In 1978, Moore and Thin Lizzy recorded what is known as their best studio album, Black Rose: A Rock Legend. It debuted at #2 on the U.K. album charts. Moore's bluesy resonance carried well into the hard rock sound of the band. Over the years, Moore's style flowed from Blues to hard rock to soft ballad, but he always came back to his blues roots. The Blues was truly what gave him his edge. It was infused into everything he played and added a rich depth to his sound.

Moore's fans followed him through a weaving journey of music. He played with such musicians as Albert King, Albert Collins, Cream's Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, B.B. King and the Beatles' George Harrison in a bevy of different styles, according to Rollingstone.com.

According to Guardian.co.uk, Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham said, "Playing with Gary during the Black Rose era was a great experience. He was a great player and a great guy. I will miss him."

Rollingstone.com reported that Thin Lizzy's drummer Brian Downey said, "I am in total shock. I have known Gary since 1967 when he was in Platform Three and he's been an amazing friend ever since. It was a pleasure to play with Gary again in 2006 after his days with Lizzy. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers and I just can't believe he is gone."

The multitude of comments by peers and other musicians show that Gary Moore was an influence in many musician's careers. Rock Guitarist Slash tweeted, "RIP Gary Moore. One of the greatest British Rock & Roll guitarists. There will never be another Gary Moore. Sad times." Twitter is ablaze with tweets hailing Moore as one of the most influential musicians of the last century. Many fans, tweeting under the #GaryMoore tag, are paying their respects to the musician, many leaving comments of admiration, others simply tweeting links to favorite performances by Moore. The music world has lost a towering and influential musician.

Gary , you will be missed

I remember he had a see threw guitar, I thought that was the coolest thing back in the 70's I seen Thin Lizzy in a little downtown theater it was one of the best shows! "The Boys are back in town again!" Damn! that sucks!
