Why should this site be any different?



A neighbor of mine came over to talk today and shared with me some concerns. As we were talking, I began to share my thoughts about this Amnesty problem with the illegal immigrates from Mexico . She agreed, it is a problem! “I am a Veteran , and I served my Country it didn’t serve me!” She was born on a Indian Reservation and she was taken from her parents and put into Foster care after her parents were killed. She went from foster care to foster care homes. Many homes she was abused, and finally when there seems hope by adoption, the government DFCS officials gave her to Alcoholics! They burned all her records including her birth papers and the only records she has is, as an adult. Our government SSI won’t accept her DD214 which is a Federal Document as proof of her age. But the Federal Government will accept fraudulant SS cards illegally aquired by illegal immigrants as proof to recieve benefits by the use of false cards! They make me sick!, she added. I have to agree! Therefore she can’t get Social Security even though she is of age to receive it now. She is angry that the illegal Immigrants can come here and demand all our programs, our SSI, our Food stamps, our housing, our medical relief and yet she can’t get her SSI at her elder age until her documents are found. She has two senators working on it! She is a high ranking officer of the DAV locally. When I mentioned this site and all the people here who speak out against this Illegal Immigration to her, “ Why bother our Government doesn’t care and the people don’t care and if you speak up, it gets censored, why should this site be any different?,” she replied! I didn’t have an answer, “I said I got rebottled a rebuke of sorts by one lady in the forum one day to my surprise, but I will still share my thoughts because I am One Voice speaking Loudly and I will get heard!

judymd, this site is different and I hope that you never leave because of a rebuke. As in all sites and freedom of expression, there will be an occasional rebuke of sorts come along from someone.

Not to worry. We are Americans....and the most important thing we have to do is stand together...thick and thin...all for one and one for all.

On another thread I made the comment that our weakness is not that we have strayed from God, but that we have strayed from each other.

I feel so sorry for your friend. Assure her that she is welcome at this site and that we need her. I don't know how helpful we can be to solving her particular problem but I know we can be helpful to part of what worries her and that is stopping the ravages of illegal immigration and hopefully removing the main cause of it which is the current administration from power.

And I'm a Republican that would never suggest it unless I believed with all my heart and soul that it was absolutely necessary.

I'm a genealogist. Tell your friend to contact a genealogist and they can help recover her records. They know how to find the records.

You may be right, they may not care but I'm going to make their office a living hell for their staff. When those people, which normally have a quite day is interupted and disturbed by countless faxes, continous phone calls, visits... they will have to notice. They may actually like their staff, considering they have to trust them. Therefore, they may listen because of their staff.

A thought which might help her.

When my grandfather died, Social Security refused to allow my grandmother to get appropriate benefits. You see, the country church in S. Carolina, where they married, had burned down, so there were no records of their marriage. Remember, this was a long time before the records were centralized. She was incensed! I can still hear her saying that "my children aren't bastards". My mother remembered a NEWSPAPER article that family had saved, from a long time ago, in which my grandfather was quoted as saying "my wife of ...years, May". Social Security accepted it as proof.

Point being, does your friend have access to any public article, ...newspaper, school paper, armed svcs or vet paper, hospital record, voters registration, which gives her name? And shows a date. MIGHT help. Hope so.

And yes, as our numbers grow, it's going to be harder to ignore us! Dixie's right!

You mentioned "illegal immigrates"! That is a good one! If that is what you meant, YES, they are ingrates! They demand, demand, demand, blah, blah, blah.

Your friend sounds like numerous other American citizens who are getting the cold shoulder/shaft from government welfare workers while illegal aliens can get just about anything that us taxpayer's foot the bill for.

I've been wearing a t-shirt just about every time I leave my house and expect to be in public (i.e., grocery stores, other businesses), that says, "No Amnesty for Illegals: Protect our Nation's Borders and Enforce the Laws of our Land." I recently purchases another t-shirt online that reads, "Illegal Aliens [pic of Uncle Sam here with a stern face and pointing finger] I want you out of my country." I'm going to buy more t-shirts with similar messages very soon and online.

These advertisements of sorts get at least one positive comment every time I'm out in public. Haven't had any negative comments yet except dirty looks from what appear to be Hispanics.

When I hear the positive comments, I often also hear stories of people or people they know who are being ignored by our government especially in the medical/health area. For example, while at Spencer's at a Mall two days ago, a young (surprise; normally middle age or older approach me) woman and an employee here read my shirt and liked it. She said her mother works at a nearby hospital and knows of and knows people who work in welfare and that Hispanics get Medicaid very easily. Then, as many others have done, she relayed a story of a friend of hers', a legal US citizen, who was denied medical treatment/welfare.

This happened to me recently too, i.e. being denied a medical welfare.

I hope you will both stay/join us.

judymd, tell your friend to join us here,tell her there are many Native Americans here, if we don't know how to help her at least we can give her spirit a boost! I am wondering if concernedveteran, might be able to give her some good advice, he seems very knowledgable of things concerning the govrnment, he might know first hand someone to help your friend, maybe you could private message him about this issue!.We need you to stay with us to, we cannot afford to lose any of our patriots here!This is a disgrace what happened to your friend, sadly though it is not a surprise to me, I don't want any pity party here, don't need it just stating truth, many Native Americans have been abused and neglected by our government, it still goes on. It sounds to me like your friend needs a powerful Senator or Representative on her side to get this cleared up!

Our nation was not founded by people with an attitude of "No one cares, so why bother?"
The USA was built from the ground up by hardworking people who would not accept failure as an option.
Many generations later we still need that determination, or else we will lose everything in complacency.

Judy, has your friend contacted the Mormon Church. They have extensive genealogical records for American Indians. They might be able to help.

This is a sad story and I mean that sincerely.

What I fear, however, is there are millions of those stories out there now and no one is hearing them.
