And so it begins.

In what is among the first of sure to be many reports citing unnamed sources surrounding the Friday departure of now former chief strategist Steve Bannon from President Donald Trump's White House, the Daily Mirror reports that First Daughter Ivanka “helped to force [him] out.”

Unsurprisingly, Breitbart News trumpeted the report in a bold headline:

According to the Daily Mirror, Washington sources said Bannon was “pushed out” by Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner, senior adviser to the president, in part because his “far-right views” were incompatible with their Orthodox Jewish faith.

Ivanka converted to Judaism when she married Kushner in 2009.

Quoting an unnamed source “close to Ivanka,” the Daily Mirror reports the source said Bannon's ouster was “done to save the presidency.” “Him leaving changes everything,” the source reportedly said.
Daily Mail notes Bannon's nickname as “Bannon the Barbarian” — Politico reported Bannon told friends on Friday to get ready for “Bannon da Barbarian” — while incorrectly identifying him as the founder (the late Andrew Breitbart would beg to differ) of the “right-wing” site, which, the Daily Mail claims, has “rallied against Jews and Muslims.”

And Breitbart's take on the Daily Mirror piece?

The site's feature story pointed to Bannon's controversial interview with The American Prospect, in which he decried “ethno-nationalism” — neo-Nazis, the KKK, and other white supremacist groups — as “losers” that need to be “crushed.” “These guys are a collection of clowns,” he said.

Incidentally, Bannon claimed on Friday it was his decision to leave the White House, and that he had submitted his resignation letter on August 7.

But The American Prospect co-founder and co-editor Robert Kuttner, who conducted the interview with Bannon on Tuesday,didn't buy it: “If somebody knows that he's given his letter of resignation, why would he invite me to the White House after Labor Day?”

Great question, Mr. Kuttner. Undoubtedly, there will be many more to come.

A Daily Mail report cites sources giving Ivanka Trump credit for forcing Steve Bannon out of the White House.
The article references “Washington sources” that Trump’s daughter Ivanka pushed out Bannon because of his “far-right views” clashing with her Jewish faith.

Bannon’s departure, the Daily Mail reports, was “done to save the Presidency,” according to a source close to Ivanka Trump, claiming that Bannon leaving “changes everything” with the Trump presidency.

But according to a report from Axios reporter Jonathan Swan, Bannon had not “meaningfully advised the president about his response to Charlottesville,” although the pair spoke on the phone over the weekend.

Trump defended his remarks in a press conference on Tuesday, saying that there were “good people on both sides” of the protests while condemning the racial groups who were present.

After Trump’s press conference, Bannon praised the president’s performance for standing up to “the braying mob of reporters,” according to Axios.
Bannon also decried the white nationalists, neo-Nazis, and KKK members as “losers … a fringe element” that needed to be “crushed” during an interview with The American Prospect.

“These guys are a collection of clowns,” Bannon added, blaming the media for raising their profile.
Ivanka Trump remains a powerful force within the White House as an adviser to the president, although she and her husband Jared Kushner distanced themselves from Trump’s remarks about the protests.

During the Tuesday press conference, the pair were in Vermont, on a “on a pre-planned, two-day vacation,” according to reports.
