Plane drops $1 million in cash over Bolivia in suspected drug deal

It rains cash in Bolivia.
An anti-drug squad in the South American country seized $1 million in US dollars on Sunday after the money was dropped in a plastic bag from a small plane flying over Santa Cruz province, The Telegraph reports.
Bolivia’s Interior Minister, Carlos Romero, said the money was withdrawn from a bank in Paraguay and an envelope found with the cash showed that a transportation company was hired to deliver it.
Authorities believe the drop was a drug trafficking operation and an investigation is ongoing.
Three people were arrested trying to pick up the money, The Telegraph reports.
Last week, Bolivian anti-drug officials seized 690 pounds of cocaine that was set to be delivered to Brazil after shooting at a small plane, forcing it to land, according to the Latin American Herald Tribune.
