    You will not believe this!

Would you believe that Rush just quoted Bob Novak's little blurb that we were discussing in this thread..Believe the last paragraph????

    http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-23055.html

He repeated it like it was the truth that the Senators were told by their constituents during the Easter recess and were reporting back that they were less outraged by leaky borders than the possible loss of immigrant workers.

Meanwhile he was talking about everything but the illegal alien stories. He just threw that in as an aside.

There were more articles printed about how mad the Americans were after these marches and less sympathetic toward the illegals, especially when they were waving the Mexican flag and all those anti Grino signs.

    IMMIGRATION POLITICS

New national polling data shows, to the surprise of many politicians, that the immigration issue is one of the very rare areas where President Bush is gaining rather than losing strength.

The conventional wisdom has been that Bush's guest worker proposal runs sharply against mainstream Republican opinion and contributes to the president's loss of party support. However, current polls show Republican opinion on the issue is split, as are the Democrats, with a national majority actually backing Bush (while he continues to drop in nearly every other category).

Some Republican members of Congress have reported back from Easter recess to say that their constituents are less outraged by leaky borders than the possible loss of immigrant workers, some from their own households.

This shouldn't surprise any of us -

Bob Novak has been used by propagandists before.

People we have our President, our congress, dozens of organizations, big business, some wrong headed citizens, the media, and the Mexican government against us.

They are going to pull out all the stops.

I don't have any faith in congress doing the right thing. The right thing would be simply to enforce the laws we have. All this law will do is just give amnesty to the illegals - all of them. It is not designed for border control, or for deporting ANYONE. It is designed to put a stamp of legality on this insanity - so the American people cannot do anything about it.

We first have to realize that no politician is going to help - except TAncredo - not a one of them.

Then we have to look at what our ammo is. It is our votes and our money.

Our votes need to be used to put them all out of office - everyone of them except Tancredo - ALL OF THEM. We can work on a third party in the meantime. But that will take time and we don't have time. We need to do something now - something drastic.

Forget about party - they have all had time to do something. Why don't they just say - 'Hey, we have laws, enforce them." Because they are flimflamming so they can get the amnesty through, attempting to cloak it in some kind of border security bill.

Then we need to get on board with our focused boycotts each month. If we don't do this simple thing - we are lost.

We can never get media time, except in a negative way. Our congress is going to do less than nothing. Our President has vowed to not sign any bill unless it contains amnesty - so we are out here alone.

Join the monthly focus boycott - as well as boycotting any other on an individual basis.

But the monthly boycott will get their attention - if only 1/4 of the people who say they are against the illegals would just not purchase poultry - it would make a big difference. They would feel the hit.

Something is going on already. I am not trying to say it is the boycott - although I am sure they have heard about it (don't expect them to acknowldge it). Fryers have been .49 a pound for 3 weeks now, and it is down in Central TExas as well.

So while it may have absolutely nothing to do with the boycott, it signals there is something going on and they are 'dumping' chicken. Either way, it means they are vulnerable.

nntrixie, I think you are absolutley right about being out here alone. I gave up on the Republican Party, about two years ago. They haven't got a vote or a dime from me since then. If an amnesty bill makes it through Congress, it will be the end of the Republican Party anyway. I've already moved on to the Constitution Party.

Limbaugh's only concern about illegal aliens is that the issue may hurt Republicans in the elections.

If he reads something that says that's not the case, then that's the end of the illegal alien issue for him.

After all, if something actually was done to fix the problem, he might have to pay more to play golf.
It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

    Darlene:

I hate to quibble with you but I was listening to Rush and he pointed how disingenuously it was and how it was one members opinion because he was probably going to lose his Illegal help.

Rush has been great on the Illegal Immigration issue as of late.
Is this Mexico or the USA

Scotty Dog, I probably missed him saying that. I turned him off and then turned him back on again, only to hear that...all he said before moving on was that "it was probably going to make a lot of people out there mad".

He has been talking more than ever these last few weeks about illegal aliens, that is the only reason I turned him on today. Where has he been the last couple of years on this subject. Almost silent, maybe one comment thrown in here and there. He probably only brought it up because his ratings have fallen and he reads the polls. That is why I was so mad when he brought up the poll "according to Novak". It is a dam lie and everyone here knows it.

I still don't trust the lap dog of Bush.

At one time I was a regular listener to Rush but I have parted company with him on several issues, most of all on the borders issue.
I notice he has finally starting talking about the illegal issue lately, but he seems to see it only in the context of how it affects the GOP and the President. It seems as though he cares more about a political party and the current administration than about the future of our Republic.
There are quite a few Republicans who are stuck in this mode, it seems; when I try to discuss the border issue with them, they only get defensive and accuse me of 'bashing the president' or of wanting to put the Democrats back in power. Then they start predicting the doom and destruction of civilization as we know it IF Hillary Clinton gets elected, or the Dems win Congress back. I just don't get their shortsightedness. To them, the worst thing they can imagine is that the Republican party will lose power. So many (including Rush, I'm afraid) seem more loyal to the party than to their country.
Rush seems always more focused on party politics and on 'our guys' winning, as though it's just a sporting event, like his beloved football. Maybe in his mind that's what it is, just a big game, and winning is the only thing. I just get the feeling Rush (despite his vaunted intelligence) does not see the threat our country is under; I think he is a party loyalist and Bush loyalist above all.
