    Please help SAVE America

PIGGY PELOSI does NOT want the SAVE ACT to come up on the floor. Thelma Drake filed a "Motion to Discharge......" which requires 218 signatures, in order to force the ACT to the floor for debate.

The democrats want to ADD an amendment which would give SHAMNESTY (path to citizenship) to the ILLEGALS currently in the U.S.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE............EVERYONE............we MUST contact members of the House and let them know this is totally UNACCEPTABLE.

We also have to encourage all who have not signed, to get on the bandwagon AND DO SO. We need 50 more signatures.

If you call, please refer to SAVE ACT DISCHARGE PETITION 0005

Motion to Discharge a Committee from the Consideration of a resolution
    March 11, 2008

To the Clerk of the House of Representatives:

Pursuant to clause 2 of rule XV, I, Thelma D. Drake, move to discharge the Committee on Homeland Security, the Committee on the Judiciary, the Committee on Ways and Means, the Committee on Education and Labor, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Agriculture, and the Committee on Natural Resources, from consideration of the bill (H.R. 408 to provide immigration reform by securing America's borders, clarifying and enforcing existing laws, and enabling a practical employer verification program; which was referred to said committees on November 6, 2007, in support of which motion the undersigned Members of the House of Representatives affix their signatures, to wit:

I am ashamed to say my Rep's name is not there. Today, I sent him 2 faxes from NumbersUSA. One to ask him to sign the discharge petition and the other one was his Immigrations Report Card, where he had a B- for Interior Enforcement. I suggested to him that he could raise that grade to an A+ if he co-sponsored SAVE and sign the discharge petition. Signed it "Feeling unrepresented." Sheesh. I am truly ashamed of him!

I will also call his DC today.

Please also see my post near the end of the thread over here as well:

I offered a list of the 'next' 60 or so Reps that would be the best ones to target for phone calls to urge support of the SAVE Act. The list is split about 50-50 between Dems and Repubs. With 168 signatories, we need about 50 more to get the discharge petition approved. 'It can be done'

Just got off the phone with Rep. Simpson (Idaho)'s aide. After asking her to ask him to sign the petition, I commented: "Gee, it's so embarassing that both Idaho reps have not yet signed this petition." She answered: "Well, just beause they didn't sign the petition doesn't mean they aren't for it."

To which I replied: "Well, if they are for it, why don't they sign it?? The petition won't go through without enough signatures." Boy, that was a blonde moment on her part. DUH.

"Oh," she said, "Alright! I'll relay your message."

Don't feel bad Ex-OC, my rep's name isn't on there either and probably never will be. When I called his offices today I got the usual..."I will certainly pass along your message thank you goodbye click." I know they hate me at Brad Miller's office but do they have to be so obvious?

Mine won't be there either. Mike Thompson is in Pelosi's pocket and his own for cheap labor in their vineyards.

And what's worst in your case, florgal, is Heath Shuler -- the architect of the SAVE Act -- represents NORTH CAROLINA!! And he's a Dem! That's one of the things I told the staffers of my 2 House Reps who are Republicans. "I am embarassed that a Democrat beat us to it!"
