I'm glad to see this topic b/c just yesterday my teen informed
me that a student in his class refused to stand or recite the
Pledge. When I asked the student's ethnicity I must admit
I was shocked considering all things. He was Muslim, Arab.
Now this is just ridiculous to me that he would refuse to
recite the pledge while living in the country and getting an
education at one of the top schools in this area.
In another more baffling case my daughter's teacher, 5th grade,
REFUSES to say the pledge b/c she disagrees with the war.
I think she sets a horrible example b/c the class is 95%
Latino Anchor Babies. I feel she should be teaching them loyalty
to their country but obviously all of these people are using
their freedom of speech expression. May I add this teacher
is a lesbian. Maybe that's another part of it.Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed.
Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.

I just read the post and I can not believe the VFW encouraged the principal to have her teachers command their students to give the United States Pledge of Allegiance in a foreign language. Of course I haven’t been active in the VFW or the American Legion since I moved to another state 15 years ago but I can never remember the encouragement of giving our Pledge in a foreign language but maybe the times have changed. I was also involved in the Boy Scouts for many years and none of the activities involved giving our Pledge in a foreign language. I can not recall the giving of the Pledge in a foreign language ever coming up in a conversation. This is very strange; I wonder if anyone has contacted the VFW Post to verify that they encouraged the principal and teacher?

When I was in the Army our company had a few spanish speakers from Puerto Rico including our 1st SGT and we never had the Pledge or any other presentations in a foreign language of course they all could speak English and held United States citizenship.

Thanks for calling and emailing, guys! Please spread the word too to your friends.
BTW, THIS TEACHER WHO IS DOING THIS, A MS. LEE, IS DOING IT TO HER CLASS OF 2ND GRADERS. 2nd graders!!!!!!
And why are they teaching Spanish at the 2nd-grade level anyway? Our public education already sucks and they are going to waste precious education time on teaching SPANISH to our elementary kids??? WTF is that all about??PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH. PRESS 2 FOR DEPORTATION.
