    Law Enforcement Officials to Describe Impact of Broken System on Efficiency, Public Safety, and Community Trust

    Polk County, IA – As Congress prepares to take up immigration reform in early 2010, leading police executives from states as diverse as California, Iowa, and Texas will join a telephonic press conference on Thursday, October 22nd, as part of a growing chorus of law enforcement leaders calling for comprehensive immigration reform.

    Sacramento Police Chief Rick Braziel; Dr. Theron Bowman, Chief of Police in Arlington, Texas; and Sheriff Bill McCarthy of Polk County, Iowa will discuss the damage to public trust and community safety that result from the broken immigration system. These leaders will call for an overhaul of the immigration system that strengthens border security, restores the rule of law and legalizes undocumented workers in order to build relationships of trust between all resident and the police and enhance public safety.

    I think these law enforcement officials need to shut up and do their jobs or be removed from office. They were hired/elected to protect American citizens.

    We need to notify all of our people in the area so they can start making plans to throw these bums out of office!

    These supposed law enforcers sound more like law non enforcers and their opinions are off base with over 78% of those that pay their paychecks.

    Time to find these politicos a new job that does not involve them shirking their responsibilities to the taxpayers and existing laws of America.

    Can someone please expain how they hope to benefit from this? The IA's commiting crimes are NOT changing thier ways just because they have been "made legal"!

    Maybe the Sheriffs see it as "job security"?
