Yes, it is-but when you think of the possible devastation in the future caused by rising sea waters undealt with, we might actually be paying less all around in the long run by building those reverse-osmosis machines. Already some tiny island nation I never heard of is being threatened with their island flooding completely over within 100 years, and in the near future their food supply will be completely worthless due to the ocean water flooding their crops more and more regularly, as well as their palm trees starting to die off because apparently they aren't equipped to take so much saltwater inundation....

and the current talk is resettling over 100,000 people in that nation elsewhere...guess who will probably be pressured to take a good share, if not all of those refugees? We're talking about a nation being forced to evacuate and leave their roots forever, and even more crowding here. I'd rather have the cost of building those reverse-osmosis machines rather than another tsunami wave of refugees here, plus the good people of Tuvalu might get to stay in paradise!! And I heard that the company "Drinkable Air" sells machines that create fresh water from humidity in the air for less than a few thousand-it would pay for itself in time, and we wouldn't have to worry about lead or other pollution in our drinking water to boot!Last edited by sacredrage; 07-23-2012 at 06:39 PM.
