Possibly another DUI murder victim in co at hands of IA

CompleteColorado.com can report that the Colorado Bureau of Investigations criminal background report of Jose Nevarez-Coronado does not provide conclusive information on the suspect's nationality. Nevarez-Coronado is currently being held on charges of vehicular homicide-DUI after an early morning wreck killed Yvone Frye, a professor at Community College of Denver.

At 7 P.M. on Thursday, October 7, a Denver Sheriff's deputy at the county jail told CompleteColorado.com that Nevarez-Coronado was being held on $100,000 bond, but that there were NO detainers or holds of any kind on him from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

CLICK HERE to read or download the CBI report (the pdf includes 3 citations from Denver).

It is not uncommon for a CBI report to list multiple places of birth, especially for a non-American citizen.

Specifically, the "Place(s) of Birth" field on the report for Nevarez-Coronado lists MM, NM, and CO. The CBI has previously indicated to CompleteColorado.com that the abbreviation MM indicates Mexican nationality, while NM and CO would indicate American nationality.

In a higher-profile crime from 2008 involving Francis Hernandez and a wreck at an Aurora Baskin-Robbins, Hernandez's CBI report listed four different places of birth, including California, and Mexico.

In another incident involving an alleged street race in 2009 that took the life of Walter Oleksinski, Jose Hernandez-Castellenos is charged with vehicular homicide. The CBI criminal background check for Hernandez-Castellenos lists four entries under place of birth, including CO, MM, and MX.

    ***END OF REPORT***
