In 2011, even with the economy severely tanking, Social Security produced a 63.9 billion SURPLUS. That was 63.9 billion that the federal corporation immediately seized to fund their wars and pay for crap that makes all of us sick.

This is something that hits my home as my spouse and I receive SS, one of my Senators(Hutchison) was anxious to decrease (col) I ask her if she understood the impact this would cause on some seniors her answer she did not believe a 1%decrease would harm anyone, while in the past 3 years seniors have seen a small increase this coming year but prior 2 years 0 increase, the cost of living does not include food cost which per my budget has increased 15% yet our government have not stated the savings by the reduced col past 3 years.

IMO the biggest cost to government is welfare,food stamps,Medicaid, etc but few politicians will touch this subject.

Personally I would willing cut my SS by 50% if congress would agree to cut there benefits by 50% plus term limits. While I may then have the need to eat beans the trade off would be good for America, sadly corruption is so deep in our government now I see very little hope of constructive change.
