    To be honest, I think that Calderon is afraid of his people coming back to the country. They might be forced to institute some changes to better serve the people. Until then, he is money ahead if the people that illegally crossed into the USA stay here. He benefits from a lot of things:
    - Political Stability in Mexico (because no one will oppose his oppressive Government);
    - Those coming here are sending back an average of $36B a year (his banks profit from the use of that money);
    - He doesn't have to make any changes to his country, and he and his cronies keep stuffing their pockets with oil and other funds.
    - Jorge Boosh will keep up the fight to legalize the illegal felons because he knows if he succeeds, he will have another base of foolish followers.

    I could go on, but we all know what the problems are...why won't Congress wake up and stop lining their pockets as well? Not that I would urge any actions to over throw any Government, but we need to send back every illegal felon right now and let them fight for justice in their own country. Nuff said...

    MEXICO CITY - President Felipe Calderon blasted U.S. immigration
    policies on Sunday and promised to fight harder to protect the rights of
    Mexicans in the U.S., saying "Mexico does not end at its borders."

    The criticism earned Calderon a standing ovation during his first
    state-of-the nation address.

    "We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress
    and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the
    mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers," he said. "The
    insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has
    only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle ... for their rights."

    He also reached out to the millions of Mexicans living in the United
    States, many illegally, saying: "Where there is a Mexican, there is
    Mexico."

    This issue was addressed by someone from the State Department yesterday - don't know the guy's name.

    He said that what Caulderon meant was that he, like the U.S., wants to make sure that his citizens who are in other countries are treated well.

    El Presidente Calderon, I thought that we were fighting only illegal immigration.
    We have been doing our best to welcome "the immigrants who made America great," those who came here legally.

    But if you insist on putting it that way, we can change the rules of engagement.
    Americans who fought for America don't take kindly to "la reconquista" or "squatters' rights."
    Over here, we still hold to archaic and antiquated (Biblical) ideas about "trespassing" and "stealing".

    I'm not threatening anyone; I'm trying to help you understand how differently things are done in the U.S..
    But I really don't think you are going to like the consequences for all your expat "Mexicos".
    One man's terrorist is another man's undocumented worker.

    Unless we enforce laws against illegal aliens today,
    tomorrow WE may wake up as illegals.

    The last word: illegal aliens are ILLEGAL!

    Best argument for deportation I've seen to date. This is what we've all been saying for the longest time. Illegal Mexicans need to go home to Mexico.
    I agree, but when Calderon said that, he was appealing to LEGAL Mexicans here in the US
    How do you know this? Do you have any proof of your last statement?

    It's a known fact that the Presidents of mexico view those who live legally in the united states who are descended from mexico should be loyal to mexico and not the USA. Calderon was not only speaking about illegals but he was also speaking about those mexicans here legally. That's the way they think. If we went to war with Mexico they think that all the illegals and legals would rise up and take back the southwest of USA for Mexico. I know because my family came from Mexico, my grandma always told me about this but she said screw Mexico they don't care about the people and she legally became an american loyal to the usa (on my maternal grandfather's side I come from Oklahoma sooners and can trace family that came to Oklahoma in a covered wagon). Being here in southern california you see and hear things that used to shock me but it doesn't anymore. I see people waving the mexican flag on their cars even though they have california license plates. They fly the mexican flag in front of their house with no american flag in sight. When the usa plays mexico in soccer they cheer for mexico. It's common knowledge here that the Presidents of mexico kiss the ass of legal us citizens who they think are mexicans because they love the remittances they send back and because they think they can change government policy in mexico's favor like on the issue of immigration.
