I have not had a rant for a while…sorry…

Ignorance of youth:

When I was a kid I had a friend that was a negro. That is what we called black people back then and it had the same connotations as a white guy being called white. The N word I knew even then was derogatory. I was an avid swimmer and had a summer pass to a local pool. He use to walk with me there and then take off. I thought it was because he didn’t like to swim or did not have the money to enter...until one day I asked him to come in with me. I did not know or understand that he was not allowed. I simply never paid attention to the tiny “no coloredâ€
