Feb. 17: Community organizer and Human Rights Activist Karol Ruiz, far left, shouts in front of the Essex County Jail in an orange jumpsuit often worn by those in detention centers. Claudia Usma, far right, drapes an American Flag around her neck and stands side by side other activists. The event was sponsored by the American Friends Service Committee, and Wind of the Spirit - Immigration Resource Center.

They marched more than three miles in Newark, determined to stop what could be one of the largest immigration detention centers in the country.
