QUEEN ANN: Birthright Citizenship Has Got To Go

Published 20 hours ago on Jul 31, 2019 By Jose Nino

Ann Coulter went off on American immigration policy.

In a column for The Hill, the conservative commentator criticized certain aspects U.S. immigration policy which have contributed to its current mess.

She first started out by criticizing the U.S.’s “birthright citizenship” policy. She explained what this process entails:

“Any child born when his mother was physically present within the geographical borders of the U.S. automatically gets a U.S. birth certificate and a Social Security card.

Birthright citizenship is one of the most controversial facets of American immigration. Congressman Steve King introduced legislation in the past that would have repealed birthright citizenship, but it ultimately went nowhere.

Canada and Tanzania are two other countries that have this kind of citizenship. On top of that, the U.S. grants citizenship to so-called “anchor babies”, the children born to illegal immigrants.

As Coulter notes, “There’s nothing vulgar, bigoted, racial or sexual about the term “anchor baby.” It’s a boating metaphor: A geographical U.S. birth “anchors” the child’s entire family in this country by virtue of the baby’s citizenship.”

For Coulter, America’s flaws with immigration don’t stop there.

Coulter claims that “No other country holds a “lottery” in which the prize is U.S. citizenship. Ireland has a lottery but, for whatever sick and twisted reason, the Irish give the winners money, not citizenship in their country.”

She is referring to the U.S.’s diversity visa lottery program.

Coulter cites one case of this program’s failure:

“This rigorous system for choosing our fellow citizens gave us, for example, Egyptian national Hesham Mohamed Ali Hedayet, who opened fire at the El Al Airlines ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport in 2002, murdering two people. His wife had won the lottery five years after he came here on a tourist visa.”

One of the most notorious cases of this program going wrong took place in 2017:

“It got us Sayfullo Saipov, the Uzbeki who plowed a rented truck into a crowd of bicyclists and pedestrians on Halloween 2017 in New York City, killing eight and injuring many more.”

Another part of the U.S.’s immigration system that bothers Coulter is the legal channel. She asserts that “Two-thirds of all legal immigrants to the U.S. come in on these “family reunification” visas.”

She notes that the New York Times “has described our “family reunification” system as wildly out of step with the rest of the world.”

Coulter finished off her criticism of U.S immigration policy by stating that “instead of taking the top draft picks, we aggressively recruit the desperately poor, the culturally deprived, the sick and the needy. All because American elites seem to believe that it’s unfair — even snooty — to try to bring in the best immigrants we can.”

The conservative commentator’s criticism isn’t without merit.

BLP reported that Republican voters believe illegal immigration is the #1 issue during the 2020 elections.

To truly address immigration reform, Trump will need a “MAGA” congress of sorts that will be willing to vote on legislation that emphasizes merit-based migration and gets rid of the toxic magnets in the current immigration system.

That means Republicans will have to sweep all branches of government in the 2020 election cycle.

Sign the Executive Order NOW and get it to the courts!

The mother is here illegally, what is in her body is here illegally, and what comes out of it is not a U.S. citizen.

Those babies are NOT U.S. Citizens.

One need only look in the public school classrooms throughout the country to truly fathom the effect birthright citizenship has had on the U.S. Most conservative voters fail to realize that the offspring of illegal aliens are becoming the majority of the young, both in the classrooms and in the voting booths. Truly suicidal not to end the nation destroying practice of granting birthright citizenship.
