A quick relaxe time question
Since I missed Friday relax time again (work)
This week I will post just a question
Why is it
Bands like rap, hip hop and Donna Summers get in the Rock and roll hall of fame
And yet
Bands like
Yes and the Moody Blues do not?
Am I missing something here?

Good darn question....It makes me believe that the 'thugs' that brought us RAP and produced it are still running the show when it comes to music

If Madonna's in there, then it should be "The Rock n Roll Hall of Shame" The Moody Blues and Yes were played on strictly rock stations while Donna Summers and the rest were played on bubble gum stations, more listeners. I still remember all the words to the last part of "Knights in White Satin" Breathe deep the gathering gloom.

My two cents.....rap, gansta rap, etc. IS NOT MUSIC. I call it Rap Crap.
There's nothing musical about rap that I can discern. Evidently, one no longer needs to be talented.

Actually both Yes and the Moody Blues both started in the 60s
Have had consistent hit songs in many decades , and both are still
active today
With many original members still active
Moody blues first hit song , 60s before Justin joined the band

Yes from 2003
John Anderson has had some throat problems but rumor is he will
be rejoining the band
This is all original members

I had to add another cut from that same Yes concert

Just beyond anything you'll hear today
So much talent ,
Listen to it once
then go back and try to pick out the individual parts ,
If you can pick out the Bass part you will be amazed, Squire is
among the best there has ever been
Steve Howe on guitar is a legend anyway , just amazing
