Hurrah! Victory in Missouri! MIAC Documents withdrawn!

    Friends,

If you heard last Sunday's Last Americans Standing Show, you all know how deeply upset I have been after reading the eight page document release to law enforcement officers in Missouri. I was on the verge of releasing a new article calling on millions of Americans to stand up and demand that this MIAC document be retracted and an apology issued.

That will no longer be needed. It appears that the folks in Missouri have decided to do the right thing. In response to ALIPAC's letter to the Missouri Governor's office, we just received the following response.

ALIPAC's letter of inquiry to Missouri Governor.
    http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-150491-miac.html

    Today's Response

    Department of Public Safety
    MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL
    Colonel James F. Keathley, Superintendent
    An Internationally Accredited Agency

    Jeremiah W. (Jay) Nixon Governor

    John M. Britt
    Director

    March 25, 2009

The release of a report on militia groups last month by the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) has led me to take a hard look at the manner in which the Missouri State Highway Patrol oversees the dissemination of law enforcement information by the MIAC. My review of the procedures used by the MIAC in the three years since its inception indicates that the mechanism in place for oversight of reports needs improvement.

Until two weeks ago, the process for release of reports from the MIAC to law enforcement officers around the state required no review by leaders of the Missouri State Highway Patrol
or the Department of Public Safety. That process had been unchanged since the MIAC began issuing these reports in June 2007.

For instance, the militia report was created by a MIAC employee, reviewed by the MIAC director, and sent immediately to law enforcement agencies across Missouri. The militia report was never reviewed by me or by the Director of Public Safety, John Britt, at any point prior to
its issuance. Had that report been reviewed by either my office or by leaders of the Department
of Public Safety, it would never have been released to law enforcement agencies.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Department of Public Safety believe that law enforcement officers require intelligence of the highest quality and that the report in question does not meet that standard. For that reason, I have ordered the MIAC to permanently cease distribution of the militia report. Further, I am creating a new process for oversight of reports drafted by the MIAC that will require leaders of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Department of Public Safety to review the content of these reports before they are shared with law enforcement. My office will also undertake a review of the origin of the report by MIAC.

In the future, high-level review of these reports prior to issuance will ensure not only that law enforcement officers get better quality intelligence, but also that certain subsets of Missourians will not be singled out inappropriately in these reports for particular associations. The Highway Patrol has already developed a new system for this review, and is working cooperatively with the Department of Public Safety to integrate departmental leadership fully in that process.

    JAMES F. KEATHLEY, Colonel
    Superintendent

This is indeed excellent news and hopefully the employee or employees of the Missouri MIAC that decided to use false political propoganda from the ADL and SPLC will be thrown out on their ear to look for a new career.

Great news and thank you W.
I sent them a letter myself just last night expressing concern. I am just relieved to see they have had a change of heart in this issue. In Chuck Baldwins response he mentioned that it is up to the American people to correct these misinterpretations.

In a response to some information I have been reading a report put out by and distributed by the Missouri Information Analysis Center I take great concern in your tactics of dealing with people who love this country! Bumper stickers(paraphernalia). I am hoping this is all just misinformation.

Some of us may be called names ,such as racists and xenophobics by the ILLEGAL INVADERS SUPPORTERS. But to be called "extremists" or "terrorists" by your group is uncalled for and way out of line. Especially when you and your state are in the same fight as the rest of us when it comes to highly publicized and polarized concerns such as IMMIGRATION and ILLEGAL ALIENS.

It is the duty of all American citizens to make sure our laws are upheld and enforced. If elected politicians can not perform their jobs then we ALL have the right to seek other political members or parties to perform these jobs and protect our country and Constitution. This two party system is not working very well at this time and it is time for REAL CHANGE! Nothing at all wrong with that sir.

In my opinion you owe many people an apology. I also believe Ron Paul,Bob Barr, and Chuck Baldwin have some good ideas and ideals for this country. I am sure all of you in Missouri vote for the one you feel can do the job before that is put before them. Hell the ACLU do not even put the third party on a watch list or "terrorist list". And we all have a few choice words for their organization.

    Thank You
    Mr _____________
voter and citizen of the Untied States of America

P.S. I voted for third party politicians several times already.

    Kinder Has Strong Words, Apologizes

A controversial report from the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) is getting a lot of attention at the State Capitol and has prompted Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder (R-MO) to ask that Missouri Public Safety Director John Britt be placed on administrative leave. MIAC works with the Department of Homeland Security. The February 20th report indicates supporters of such things as smaller government and crackdowns on illegal immigration, as well as backers of 2008 presidential candidates Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and Chuck Baldwin have tendencies to join militias. Reaction throughout Missouri and parts of the country has prompted Britt to apologize to former White House candidates Paul, Barr, and Baldwin. In issuing that apology, Britt stated he had not read the http://foxradionetwork.blogspot.com/200 ... .htmleport prior to it being issued.

I don't trust government and some special interest groups against Americans.

Level of Security will only be add to this type of "Memo" from now on.
