    Conservative lawyer endorse Obama

    Published: March 23, 2008 at 11:26 PM

LOS ANGELES, March 23 (UPI) -- Douglas Kmiec, a leading conservative Republican lawyer Sunday endorsed Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., for U.S. president.

Writing in Slate magazine, Kmiec, who served as constitutional legal counsel to former Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, called Obama "a person of integrity, intelligence and genuine good will."

"I take him at his word that he wants to move the nation beyond its religious and racial divides and to return United States to that company of nations committed to human rights," said Kmiec, a professor of constitutional law at California's Pepperdine University.

Kmiec, a former dean of the law school at The Catholic University of America, said he was not sure if Obama's "life experience is sufficient for the challenges of the presidency," but he said he doubts that can be known about any of the current presidential hopefuls.

Kmiec noted that as a Republican and as a Catholic, he supports preserving traditional marriage and believes that "life begins at conception" -- and he acknowledged that Obama may differ with him on those issues. However, he said he is convinced that Obama "is not closed to understanding opposing points of view, and … will respect and accommodate them."

This is a major hoax of virtue. Douglas Kmiec is far from being Conservative. He has been a legal counsel before due to his credentials, but over the past years since daddy Bush he hasn't been much of a supporter of Conservative ideals, let alone constitutional ideas. He has spent most of his time on NPR and Newshour and his diatribes are less than sensical and more speculative in relation to how current events relate to the Constitution. How in the world could anyone grounded in Consitutional Law such as he, and then chose to be taken seriously, support a candidate who supports cosmopolitan law? Obama has openly announced support for illegal aliens and has mentioned he will not enforce certain laws. So you can quickly get to what makes this guy tick, he is simply a shill for the Vatican lobby. The Vatican sees expansion under Obama via illegal aliens from Mexico and agrarian measures the support. I am sure Doug Kmiec is positioning himself to be of influence there in the B. Hussein Obama kabal.

The bolded statement concerns me. The US has no human right problems. We do not torture, kill or maim people, unlike some other countries. Under Obama, "human rights" would be to open our country to ALL who want to squat here, and fully subsidized by us. NO thanks!

There is also no way I would take advise from a professor at ANY CA university.

"Conservative." I'm not even sure what that label means any more as far as politicians go.

Remember, John McCain considers himself a "conservative" and he is about as conservative as Hiliary Clinton or Al Gore is.
