    Rating the Republican Candidates on Immigration

    NUMBERS USA Rating of Republican Candidates on Immigration Issues
    http://www.betterimmigration.com/candid ... _gop1.html

    Changing the word evaluations into a number

    excellent = 3
    good = 2
    fair = 1
    poor = -1
    bad = -2
    abysmal = -3

    the rating for each Republican candidate on each issue comes out as follows. Note that I also added a subjective issue weighting of up to +/-25% as well. You probably have a different perspective of what is most important.

    Issue weight Giul. Huck. McCain Thomp. Rom. Paul Tan. Hunt.
    No amnesty 1.25 -2 -1 -2 3 1 2 3 3
    future immigration 1.1 1 2 1 2 2 2 3 3
    reduce immigration 1.25 -2 1 -2 2 -2 -1 3 2
    actions in past 1 -2 -2 -2 1 2 2 3 3
    end chain migration 1.25 -1 2 -3 3 1 -1 3 2
    end visa lottery 0.75 -1 2 -2 2 -1 2 3 3
    # foreign workers 1.1 -1 -1 -3 2 -1 2 3 2
    citizenship birthright 1.25 -3 -1 -1 -1 -1 3 3 3
    workplace verification 1.25 1 2 2 3 2 1 3 3
    punish employers 1.15 1 3 1 2 2 -1 3 3
    enforce federal laws 1.25 -2 3 2 2 3 2 3 3
    entry/exit system 1 2 3 2 2 -1 2 3 3
    border security 1.25 3 3 2 3 3 2 3 3
    end sanctuary cities 1.25 -2 3 1 3 3 2 3 3
    state licenses 1 2 3 -1 2 3 -1 3 3
    in-state tuitions 0.9 -1 -2 -3 3 3 1 3 2
    TOTAL: -7 20 -8 34 19 19 48 44
    WEIGHTED TOTAL: -8.5 23.3 -7.5 38.4 21.9 21.2 54 49.5

    This was done in EXCEL. If anybody knows how to post it in a better looking format, can put it up as a pdf, or can make an on-line interactive version where each individual can assign their own weighting, please contact me on private message and I'll send you the Excel file to get you started. Also, I don't know how to automatically convert the word evaluation into a number for when Numbers USA next updates the matrix to reflect a candidates changing position as they have seen the light - or voter's anger.

    FYI: I played with the weighting a half dozen different ways, including opposite to my important issues, and the rankings still came out about the same, only with Hucklebee, Romney, and Paul changing positions depending on what was weighted and how much. I didn't even try doing the Democratic candidates as they will all be worse than McCain and Guiliani.

    Most important is punish employers 1.15 1 3 1 2 2 -1 3 3
    Without doing this there's a bigger plan - to open the borders, make no one illegal

    Issue weight Giul. Huck. McCain Thomp. Rom. Paul Tan. Hunt.

    Who gets the worst score poor = -1
    Out of all Giul. Huck. McCain Thomp. Rom. Paul Tan. Hunt
