These words "conservative" and "right" and "left" have become very distorted in recent years.
Republicans have traditionally been liberals. Our party was started by liberals, social liberals, all our great achievements occurred because of that liberal philosophy of freedom, liberty, equality and prosperity. That liberal philosophy funded the bloodiest war ever fought by Americans, it ended the abomination of slavery, it established civil rights for black American, it supported equal rights for women, it eradicated child labor, it established workers rights, it built the transcontinental railroad, established the Interstate Highway System, OSHA and EPA. It ended desegregation.
Republicans were also fiscal conservatives and believed in pay as you go, it paid for the war in just a few years and dispensed with the temporary income tax levied to fund it, it paid for the railroad with bonds, it paid for the highway system with gas taxes. It pays for OSHA and EPA with fines by wrong-doers. Republicans secured our borders and protected our trade, these were fundamental elements of fiscal conservatism, because how can you have limited government and a prosperous country if you're shipping our jobs out and importing poverty, unemployment and wage deflation? You can't.
We have 72% of all immigrants, legal and illegal, signed up for Medicaid. There are more than 72 million people on Medicaid now and at least 20 million of them are illegal aliens and immigrants who can't support themselves or their families. So tell me how in the hell does immigration contribute to the US economy? It doesn't. It dilutes the economy, causes unemployment and poverty among both the US citizen population as well as the immigration population.
When political candidates and I can remember George W Bush during his second term doing this while he promoted all these free trade treason agreements going to little towns and touring some small manufacturing operation that would say they supported CAFTA or the FTAA, because they would increase their exports and hire 20 more people. Oh, okay. Well, the agreements cost the United States millions of great jobs with large companies that offer all types of good wages and benefits, so how does trading off millions of manufacturing jobs with large corporations in exchange for small business expansion that adds 20 here and 30 there ever pay off? It doesn't.
So Republicans who support immigration and free trade treason are not really Republicans. They're something else altogether. Trump would call them, STUPID, and that's good enough for me. I've been calling them Traitors, and that works, too.
Furthermore, on balanced budgets and health care issues, no one can do anything on either one, until AFTER you reverse the policies that cause these issues to begin with, which are illegal immigration, excess legal immigration and free trade treason. When you fix the immigration and trade issues, you no longer have the same exorbitant spending supporting populations that shouldn't even be in our country, let alone sucking on welfare benefits that increase poverty spending and deflate wages and benefits to the point where our people don't even have jobs, let alone enough wage or benefits to pay for health insurance without government assistance or subsidy.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan
