Received this Reply from Senator Burr, R-NC
I received, in part, the below reply to my many e-mails, faxes, etc to Senator Burr. Nothing from Senator Dole. Do you think this is "spin"?
I become concerned when terminology like "blanket amnesty" is used.
I'd rather hear specifically, "no path to citizenship for any illegal aliens". What do you think???
"I believe that we should only permit those into our country who respect our laws, our system of government, and way of life. Immigrants should demonstrate their intentions of becoming productive, law-abiding members of our society as a condition for receiving citizenship. I support the ability of those to immigrate who Wish to contribute to our Nation and who desire to uphold the strength of our democracy. I do not, however, support a blanket amnesty that would reward those who have broken the law.
I understand the importance of this issue to many North Carolinians, and I will continue to work toward a solution. While I am serving as your United States Senator, 1 will work to reform cur immigration system in order to protect the interests of all Americans. If I can be of further assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me or visit my web site at http://burr.senate.gov.
Sincerely,
Richard Burr
United States Senator

Personally, it sounds like he is for the guest worker program, or the if they pay the fine, etc. but doesn't want to let them all in and that seems to be the stance of alot of them. They just have no clue as to how they would ever begin to impliment it and it's got as many holes in it as a strainer.

I agree Crazybird, he seems to be for a guest worker program but MAYBE with some tighter restrictions and consequences for entering the United States illegally. I don't think that is very clearly stated though.
He sounds like one George Bush will be able to hook and reel in.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

For sure. I know my senators are. I did see a sign with the Sen. of Colorado that clearly states it's a $5,000.00 fine, and so the 2,000 is already less. Then when they want to throw all the other goodies....they are rewarded for breaking the law. Always wanting to leave that huge gap for error. Why ZERO Tolerence for our kids and this half-baked idea for illegals? Makes no sense at all.

No doubt about it....I'd write another letter, and be POINT BLANK in your questions, and tell him you do not want rhetoric, but answers.
1. Will you vote for a Guest Worker Program?
2. Will you vote for Earned Citizenship?
Either of these snakes are just other names for what abouts to a blanket Amnesty Senator, and I want to know where YOU REALLY STAND.Keep the spirit of a child alive in your heart, and you can still spy the shadow of a unicorn when walking through the woods.

A big question is how do you handle those people who have compounded illegal presence with using fraudulent federal documentation.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Sounds like spin to me.
I'd also ask point blank about the seditionists.

AndyT, I don't know that any more people will recognize the humor in that comment than will recognize the significance of the screen name Junius Jnr but I think it's hysterical!
