Upon apprehension, particularly at the border, mark the illegals with dye. There is a red dye that I know of, that is as permanent as a tatoo.

If they don't like the idea, then it's a good one.

Note: There already is a law-enforcement use for permanent dyes, decoy money bundles given to bank robbers explode and spatter dye all over the robber's face when he opens the bundle to count the loot.

How about implanting a tracking chip, so if they come across the border again an alarm goes off, pinpointing their location. Or better yet, it releases a sterility chemical into their bloodstream, so at least they can't make any anchor babies. But you know the pro-illegals supporters would have a fit, of course.
